Never been, mite venture there 1 day this year. Im staying in Playa Den Boss this year, how far in a taxi is it from there and how much are drinks etc? Is it one of the ridiculously over priced beach bars?

It's about the same distance as Pacha is from PDB but the other side of the airport. It probably thinks of itself as the most exclusive beach bar on the island so it's not a place for getting free vodka shots in. Favourite hang-out of super-yachties and their D&G-clad entourages with Pacha accessories who don't mind paying a bit more to help keep out the riff-raff. Think big club prices and you're probably not far off.

If you and your mates want to spend the day there with a bed in high season, you will need to book well ahead and should budget a few hundred for the day, else 50-80 Euros each ought to be enough to pop in for a few by the bar and check it out.

An unplanned night at We Love on this trip knocked our planned visit to Blue Marlin on the head. I do know that sun longer rental is 15 euro each with a minimum spend of 50 euros each. The bigger beds which accom 3 are 100 with a minimum spend of 250 per bed.

Have heard yemanja at cala jondal does really good food and a good bit cheaper than Blue Marlin.

Is this minimum spend thing new?
I've sat there all afternoon with the missus and only paid for the 2 beds and a couple of drinks.
We had dinner there later on but that was after settling the beach bill.

A 'time of the season thing', I think - eg I didn't even pay for a lux lounger at Cap d'es Falco in June (just a Mojito) or at Nassau but I think it's 50Euros or something in peak season (don't quote me on that tho' !). Blue Marlin the same - met a bunch of girls on the plane early July (when the yachts are in full force) and went to see them there (:p).. they'd had to guarantee min 150Euros spend each to get a bed even then.. by September things ease off again...

I far prefer Yemanja to Blue Marlin (relaxed and stylish rather than glitzy and posey) and it's right alongside (only a rope separating the two, basically). Better food and atmosphere (imho) and it's definitely a bit cheaper. Book ahead though in peak season - it's crazy popular and service is (as everywhere) relaxed, so chill and enjoy !

I know a few girls who went last month.

They all got beds each, ordered food and bottles of grey goose vodka......then snook off without paying!! Naughty naughty!!

I don't know how. You have to give a credit card on booking and when you get there they take a credit card off you and you get it back once the bill is paid.

Yemanja is our favourite spot. Good food, we go there with our local friends.
Good value and much more relaxed than the posers at bm.
