Art'noon all!

Loooking at hitting IBZ in june again this year. Originally had heart set on staying in one of the apartments above coastline but since have found out they they are all private owned and I have only managed to find one available for rent which is no good as am travelling with either 4 or 6 people.

Now... am looking a staying in Hotel Blau Parc as We want to stay as close to the sunset strip cafes as possible.

Anyone had any experienes of this hotel? could really do with some input from fellow spotlighters!

thanks all!:)

Hi there,

I not stayed at the Blau Parc before but it looks ok accommodation. Not sure what the clientele is like but I think it might be slightly family orientated giving that there is sometimes enterainment in the evenings but from my memory mainly at weekends. They have the golden buddah bar on the site which has great views of the sunset, serves tapas and got big sofas to lounge about.

I always stay in the Calo des Moro area. I usually stay at Costa Mar just next to Blau Parc and find it in a good location with easy access to Sun Set Strip but far enough away from central San An.

If you need any further info PM me.

Aparthotel Blau Parc - San Antonio

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

I booked this holiday independently for myself and two friends & approached this site to check out opinions on hotels in the San Antonio area. I was a little disappointed to see that the Blau Parc Aparthotel hadn't been reviewed, but I took a chance & booked a room there anyway, and I'm so glad that I did! Blau Parc is a 4 star establishment that really doesn't break the bank. I know you can get super-cheap deals with the 2 star hotels in the area, but it's so worth paying the extra money for!

We got to the hotel at about 11am and my first impressions were that it was a very clean building. Not once did I see a cockroach in the hotel! The rooms were clean with a balcony that had the most amazing view! Our room overlooked the pool and the sea. A sea-view cost a little extra (not much though!), but is a MUST if staying at Blau Parc! Forget the sunset strip! Grab a jug of Sangria, sit on your balcony, and watch as one of the most beautiful sunsets happens before your very eyes, with the comfort and privacy of ur room behind you!

The hotel was fairly quiet considering it was peak season, but I saw that as a bonus. Many of the other guests were German (I think 2 German tour operators do package deals for Blau Parc - British ones, take note!), although we did notice that there were a number of other brits staying in the hotel too!

The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean & air-conditioned (an absolute must if you want a comfortable nights sleep!) & the location was pretty good - right next to a tiny beach called Calo d'es moro. If you don't like the sea there's always the hotel pool, which was really clean and very well kept, though not very big (but that was never a huge problem as the pool was never full!). Kanya, Coastline Cafe & Sunsea bar were a couple of minutes away. San Antonio town centre was about a 25 minute walk, which can be pain when it's 39 degrees outside!

San Antonio is ok, though the 'West End' at night is really tacky, with bar/pub promoters completely in your face whichever way you turn, offering you promotions like free shots or free cocktails. It's good if u want to get drunk on the cheap though! Otherwise, stay away! If you do stay in San Antonio, try to see the rest of the island. A visit to Ibiza town is a must (plus a treck up to the top of the hill in the old town! gorgeous views!) - take the bus there as it's the cheapest option. The hippy market at Es cana is pretty cool too, you can get a lot of funky souveniers there.

The clubs in Ibiza are in a league of their own! Totally amazing, nothing like the clubs in England! They're a bit pricey, but definately worth it. Don't even think about buying drinks in the clubs unless you've got money to waste - 3 alcoholic drinks came to about 30 euros! It's madness! If there's only club you go to, make it Privilage, esp. Manumission on a Monday night. You'll be gobsmacked at the sheer scale of the place! It's in the Guiness book of records as the worlds largest club! Getting home was never a major problem. Cabs weren't too diffcult to get if u left before the clubs actually ended. And the most it'd take to get from the west to the east sides of the island is 30 mins.

Aparthotel Blau Parc is a hidden gem & I'd highly recommend it for those looking for an alternative to the cheap hotels further in the town.

no way is the blau Park 25minutes walk from the centre of san an. Its closer than that.

Yeah I thought that - its a 5 min walk to the Curry Club and the West End is only a 5 min walk from that, so 10 mins - 15 tops in my estimation - although its all relative I suppose, if your are truly battered then walking from A to B can sometimes not be as simple as one would think....

Last year it took three of us on our last night an hour to get from Play2 (!) to calo des moro after helping out the local binmen, stopping for photo opportunities with stray cats, wheelie bins , a lorry (?!) ,then a hour long session watching the sunrise on the rocks by our aparts...you never know it could be your last time in ibiza so we were milking it..!

But how much fun did you have

sometimes A-B in a straight line is very overrated..... I much prefer a meander myself..... Although one occasion does spring to mind which wasnt such a good idea when we decided to "meander" to the villa we had in Cala Salada from outside Wips at around 5.00am - it didnt seem such a massive trek on the way down - but uphill after 5 hrs of dancing and drinking really tested us....
