Blasts of white noise in the ears...

Anyone get this before? Had a fairly heavy session on Friday and Im still getting these short blasts of what seems like white noise. Very odd. Almost sounds as if someones waving a stick past my head very quickly.
 
Lol! Welcome to my world!!! I have pulsitile tinnitus and basically I can hear my heartbeat in my right ear. It sounds like someone walking throught thick snow! 8O I got mine after a particularly nasty virus about 5 years ago and there is no cure :cry: its improved over the years but it gets worse after a heavy night out or if Im really stressed, so thats quite often then lol!! :roll:

But then again you might have normal tinnitus which is like a ringing or high pitched sound in your ear, this is caused from subjecting your ears to years of extremely loud noise eg clubs and concerts. Pauly has it from DJing.

It might go away, but you might have it for quite some time :? sorry to be the bearer of bad news :?

seems to be mostly when i move my eyeballs about i get the "swiffing" noise

took the day off today for muchos sleep and its still there...
 
I have that sometimes. (Tinitus sufferer here)...I hear that swishy noise repeatedly when I come back from a club with a crap/loud sound system.

...also when there's a sudden change in sound volume - ie, turning the stereo off at home.

Not nice but not there all the time so I can cope!
 
My hearing is crap already... need to do the earplug thing too.

I had that white noise thing too, for a couple of days when I got back from Ibiza. Random flashes... scary stuff.
 
I get it after any extended week(end), and I don't think it's loud noise. I put it down to other things, and just behave for a bit.

See thats what me me go, "uhoh" this time, its not like its little flashes, it toally takes over my hearing for a split second. Work was pretty unbearable the other day, and it made me feel faint, at times I was gripping onto my chair to stay upright.

Im sure it'll go away. Hoping so anyway, but im considerin those earplug things for September. Can you get transparent ones?
 
I got blarring loud non-stop tinnitus when I was in an artillery unit. I've had it for over ten years now. I haven't had one moment of silence since for years. My tinnitus is really loud and never stops for a second. I can tell you that it can destory your life. Everyday is a battle to keep from going insane for me. The worst thing is that you can't escape it. It's like being locked in a cell and someone is pumping in a loud noise to torture you. For me, it is so bad that I constantly struggle with killing myself. Hope it doesn't get that bad for you.

Always wear earplugs my friends, tinnitus is something you don't want to experience.

I feel your pain. I went through a really bad time with mine a few years ago. It is one of the most depressing things you can get cos it drives you mad. I also thought about killing myself cos it was so loud and the pain was unbearable 8O Dont know what kind of tinnitus you have but for mine I take Ginkgo Biloba everyday and its much better now :D and I know it deffo works for me cos I had to stop taking it for 2 weeks when I was in hospital and it came back really bad again :cry:
 
It's not all doom and gloom Phil. I was unfortunate enough to suffer with it for about 9 months and I agree it is absolute hell. Fortunately it disappeared as mysteriously as it had appeared and has not returned
