Help needed...

The husband is 30 on April 21st. Originally I was going to hand him a plane ticket to Tokyo - it would've been great but that bitch pulled out of my original flat sale and I lost £2000. Ah well, **** happens.

Sooo - I'm not sure what to do now. Ferrying him over to Ibiza direct from Sonar for the openings is an option but I'm concerned that idea might be a bit too much about my agenda. (But then again, that's where he's a sod because he doesn't communicate. He's always skint so therefore subjects like whether he'd actually like to come aren't mentioned.)

I actually don't have that much money to spare because of my impending bunker move (8)) but the above is fairly do-able because accommodation is already paid for.

The alternative is a break in Berlin again because he LOVES it there and we enjoyed it so much last time...but the selfish part of me won't want to leave London for a weekend because I'll be settling into the bunker - it's a thought though. Hmmmm....

...

So, smaller scale stuff - I'd like to organise a meal for quite a few people...but also take him out somewhere special.
This could be a restaurant (reccomendations please) but any other ideas will be greatfully received...I could be a bit more imaginative than that as he's not really the restauranting type.

Ho hum - there, I've put it out there. Let's see what we can come up with!

Presents and activities...GO! ;)

How about renting a big cottage somewhere for a wkend, doesn't have to be too far away, just out in the countryside somewhere, invite all yours and the hubbys nearest and dearest and you can have a bit of everything.

Start the wkend off with wholesome country walks, pub lunches, llama riding  and then on the Saturday night make sure you've brought some decks with you, get the music on, get the Katie out, get the Lucozade brewing etc etc and let the debauchery begin.

Then finish off the wkend with Bloody Marys and veggie roasts in a country pub before heading back to London Town.

You can always rely on b___ o__. ;)

Great idea but potentially costly because getting everybody on board would be a nightmare (it's around Easter) and I'd have to front the bill.

Conclusion = Berlin.

...I still might do the weekend break thing but I'm looking for small, imaginative, different ideas at the mo.

Is there a (cheaper) site like Red Letter Days or something that would give me some ideas?

Why did you bother asking when you've already made you mind up  ;)

Tbh (and this is just b_____o__ opinion  ) I think you should choose somewhere different to Berlin, you've only just been there and even tho the hubby loved loved it, I think it's too soon to go back for his 30th, isn't there any other cities you fancy exploring??

Robder are you coming to Sonar with the husband? 8)

The tickets are on sell now, 130€ the three days ;)

I haven't made my mind up at all yet...I just think that if I was to shell out on something like that then Berlin would be more on his radar.
But it definately wouldn't be over his birthday weekend. We'd be looking at late May-ish or something like that.

This is why I need creative birthday weekend (possibly in London) ideas. I need something different. 8O Heeeelp.

Nope because I'm already booked up for Ibiza but this may change as it wouldn't cost much if things were to turn around.

He'll definately be there though as he's a Sonar veteran.

:? :?

Your best bet would be kidnaping him to Ibiza after sonar then 8O  ;)

Aaah - we're getting somewhere now! That's fairly affordable so anything like this would be good. 8)

I can't see him pole dancing though.

(I'd relish the chance however.)

The pole dancing is lots of fun, what about the circus skills course, I can imagine you and the hubby swinging from trapeezees

Is there in London any parachute jumping or parapente jumping?

We got one of this for my friend's 30's and she loved and was a great excuse for a day out. We made her a voucher saying something that she would fullfill most of her dreams: wear a fancy dress, have a fit man in her back and make the best jump into the new decade ;)

If the husband has vertigo then it's not a good idea

Take him to Ibiza with you, you fool. Immediately.

He's more of a grimey electro fan and resents most things associated with that island.

He's a snobby, been there, seen it, done it, went out with a Cafe Ole promotor...and did it all for free type. ()

...and he doesn't entertain the house thing that much.

So this is why I'm a little worried it may be more about my agenda.

Fantastic idea but it's terrifying, I'm not sure if I could do it again...8O

And I'd be so jealous if I was on the ground watching him do it from below. :(

I guess it can be romantic, yes...but I've never felt more un-romantic than when running from DC-10 traumatised on a Monday evening. 8O
