Bed, drink and food prices welcome!! I'm all ears. Taking my GF for a day there as she's never been before, and it's years since I have!!

Heard horror rumours of €45 a bed

Most beds will be free but with a minimum spend, could be anywhere from 200 euros up. But since you will be there all day by the time you have had drinks, food, snacks you will be well over the minimum spend!

€200? I wonder how lying on the sand grabs her.

Although I like the sound of the €6 beds.

Cheers

It's not a cheap day out, hiring a decent bed, food and drinks all day and you'll be lucky to get change out of 300-400 notes. How long is a piece of string though, you could do a couple of grand no bother but at the same time have a perfectly enjoyable day at the beach for 10 euros if you plan ahead

To be fair it's for her birthday so I'm happy to splash out so I'm ok with the 2/300 as a one off.

I did want to go to blue marlin or the Jockey club but heard you're talking a grand or something??? If anyone's been can they let me know if that's right?

I dont care if I can afford it or not, I'm just not sure I can justify that for an afternoon sunbathing. Each to their own though

Think we spent about €250 for a full day at Nassau last year. Was there roughly 11:00 - 19:00, had a couple of cocktails, beers, lunch with wine plus another bottle. Could've spent more but could've got away with a bit less.
Was a really enjoyable day and would give it a look if I were you!

Nassau sounded spot on when I read up on it, definite possibilities there, thanks.

+1 for Nassau, was very decent last time I was there. Probably gone up a bit now but cocktails were €12 but were really good, had a steak salad thing which was €20 and pretty much the cheapest thing going.

You could spend €5000 a bottle though, it caters for that as well

I am looking into doing a beach club when I am over in July. It's the GF's 40th when we are there and she expects to be treated like the Queen for the day!

I fired of a few Emails enquiring about sunbed/daybed prices, minimum spends etc. Here are the response I have had so far.

Sirocco - Sunbeds €10/ Umbrella €10/ Bali beds free to use for lunch customers. No minimum spend.
Beach House - Large bed 2-4 people €80 (includes towels)
Coco Beach - Sunbeds €18/ Umbrella €18/ Bali bed (2mx2m) €150 (includes Umbrella). No minimum spend.
Amante - Sunbeds €30 Round bed for 2 people €70 (both include towels and umbrella)
Jockey club - Replied saying they don't reserve beds and didn't provide any prices.

All of these prices have been provided this week and apply to the second week of July when I will be on the island, I guess they could vary depending on when you visit. I'm still waiting on a few more reply's so ill update as they come in. I didn't bother with Nassau, as other posters have said, its a lovely place but personally I think its style over substance. I've had a couple of meals there and think the service is a little too slack and the food is average for the price.

I don't know which option I will choose yet, It will probably be one in PDB, that's were we are staying and I want to avoid driving, I think we will sink a few jugs of Cava Sangria. o_O

Great info Tucker thanks. I'm the same GF's 40th and I'm wanting something special for a surprise. Probably looking like PDB for me too although Jockey Club and Blue Marlin were on my wish list.

Could you let me know what you choose as I'll be there the week after you, how it is and any more info you get? Thanks a lot that's a great help!!

Every year I say I'll do something like this on a chill day but never make it. Be interested to hear what others are doing too

One more update, Experimental Beach Club €20 per bed. No mention of minimum spend

We are gonna have a quick drive by a couple of places when we arrive next weekend and decide then. I'll let you know how it goes.

It could be a good deal, depending on the (great) cocktails prices.
Went last year, a little hard to find, but the setting is fantastic for sunset.
And I had a refreshing swim (pebble beach, same as blue marlin)
Best is to come a little before sunset to secure a bed, and ......leave right after to avoid been attacked by an army of mozzies.
