Best time of the season?

We’re heading to Ibiza to celebrate my husbands 50th next year as a couple. Looking at either end of May, June or September? Any recommendations as to when might be the best time to go? We’d like a party atmosphere but not completely rammed and an older crowd would be great. I am sure it’s busy all season!
 
Either June or September would be a good month for older crowd. If you are seasoned clubbers, then probably September would get the edge. Though the weather is likely to be more consistent in June. Taking this week as an example, the clubs have been busy but not super rammed. The weather has been mostly fine, but some days of wind and a few showers. The later into September and closer towards closing party season really kicking in, the clubs will get busier (and some of them sold out) while the island will generally seem quieter as the tourist numbers decrease out of season
 
Agree with the above, maybe also hold off until lineups come out next year, to make it so your time suits your music choices.

Only other recommendation I have is perhaps clockwork orange weekend!!
