Best speaker system for a PC gamer

I wanted to know everyone's opinions on what is the best PC speaker system out there for a gamer. My sister is in the market for one right now and is confused with all the systems available.

Which one has the clearest sound and best subwoofer for a decent price? Or should she just get a home theater system, the right connector, plug them together and tell the receiver that her PC is her CD player (which is what I've been doing for two years now with great results.).

Depends on what sort of games...

If your sister plays single player nonsense then a speaker system will be fine, if she's playing online in an environment where she needs to use voice comms to communicate with other players then she's better off with a headset to isolate the sound from going back down the mic...

Also depends on the sound card she has. She'll want the speakers/headset to complement the features the card has.
 
I think she's more for a really fat, loud sound, with floor shaking bass from a good subwoofer. The speaker system would help her double the PC as a stereo as well. Would you know of a system that would provide that great sound, similar to the quality you'd get in a nightclub? (Which is the whole reason I posted my question here rather than an IT Geeks forum :evil: I figured clubbers would want good sound for their PC as well).

Thank you for the advice regarding the headphones. She's not into the multi-player games yet.
