hi
been thinking about renting out a car this yearwhen im in ibiza. where would be the best places to visit? beaches towns etc. we got a taxi to ibiza town and spent a day there last time around the old town.

oh where would the best rates be for renting a small car? will probally just use my travel rep, but would anyone know any other places in san an.

cheers guys

there are some really nice beaches to go to,but everyone is there.so just drive round from san an.make you way round coast to say es cana.drop in all the beaches on the way.another day go the other way round towards airport.and last day try cala longa to port san migel.

you might find it cheaper and better carhire airport to airport.so long as you know the way to your hotel.

Benirras beach, Aguas Blancas beach.
Santa Gertrudis for the best Jamon Serrano and Pan con Tomate on the way home.

Benirras beach, Aguas Blancas beach.
Head up to Benirras on Thursdays and you can stop by the fair in San Miguel on your way.

For a free thrill ride, drive the coastal cliff-top road from Benirras to Puerto de San Miguel. Guaranteed heart palpitations!

Yes especially when you are nearly crashed into and sent headfirst down the side of a cliff from a mad driver taking hairpin bends at excessive speeds whilst, driving on the white line - we could see the white's of his eyes - I dont know who was the most scared us or him!!! 8O8O

Took our wing mirror off and scraped the wheel arch on the hire car.... we didnt drive for 2 days after that... - it was the first visit to the Island - now we are used to it...

Has any ever done the very high route just past cala san vincent heading up to the top of the headland where there are a number of houses up there , tried it last year but turned back before getting to the top as the roads were incredibly steep and precarious and got very scary

I would suggest trips down to south west, jondal, vedra etc and also up to the north go via san an to hit some crazy clifftop views and take the road all the way to benirras then go on.

we found the best car trips are unplanned and you find the best areas from just following your nose 8)

You mean Punta Grossa? I didn't think the road was too bad. Theres a good viewing point from up there & a couple of porn stars live up there to boot.

Mummys boy. Try the drive up Talaia de sant josep sa talaisa. Locally know as radio mountain. There are views right across the island.
I've done that one too. :p Had the missus freaking out in the passenger seat.

Benirras-Puerto de SM is worse! Also some scary ones north of Cala Salada.

I say that every year after every Ibiza visit - ;)

Honestly.... It was the single most scary moment ever, I have never been in a car accident in any shape or form as a driver or a passenger - not even a bump - until then - I was bricking it......

driving

get into your car and just drive! thats what we done, we basically drove around the whole island, if your not staying near the bay drive out to kumarahs for a sunset it is the best place ever.

Salinas beach is pretty lovely, but if you go from the right of the island on the map and drive up the way and left and down the left side of the island it is amazing, scary roads but the houses and views are like grand designs....just dont be scared of heights cos there aint no walls with the cliff road

enjoy
