best hotel/apartment for new year?

Firstly what is the best way from Barcelona to Ibiza and secondly what is the best area to stay in for the new year parties?

I am debating with the idea of flying into Barcelona on The 27th Dec, spending a few days in Ibiza, then going back to Barcelona for a few days before departing around the 8th january.

Any links to airlines/ferries operating on this route would be appreciated. The direct ferries website doesnt seem to be taking booking for the return part of the journey at the mo.

There are plenty of hotels open in winter this year as I think all Talamanca hotels are joining together for a winter promotion. Personally I would recommend Rocamar in Talamanca. A lovely, small hotel close to the beach and across the road from the equally lovely Cafe Sidney. Or, if you prefer Ibiza Town, Hostal Parque is remarkable value and in a great, central spot. Theyre both available through this site.

For flights from Barcelona there is a choice of Click Air, Spanair, Air Europa and Iberia.
