Berocca question..

I'm not convinced about Berocca at all.

The % over RDA is ridiculous, hence most of it being pissed out i.e. green/yellow piss.

I only take multivits in winter (as it makes up for vits such as D you lose through lack of sunshine)

I try and stick to ones with lower % of RDA as they are much less harsh on your liver/kidneys.

Boots do a good one with around 100% of your RDA's.

Much more cost effective IMO.
 
Thats what I was thinking Drew, the %RDA's just look too high :?

Think I've had more colds etc this year than ever as well, and thats since I started taking them. Eat better now as well :?

Might just go for a multivit to ;)
 
If you eat a good diet, you simply don't need 2,000,000% RDA vitamin C etc.

I've taken Berocca in the past, but began wondering what the point was looking at it all coming out the other end.

Buy a good multi vit/min (of a trusted brand incidentally) with relatively low RDA's and you'll be fine.

I tend to trust the less potent ones, because they are obviously designed as a supplement, not a replacement for what you get from a good diet.
 
I can maybe understand taking Berocca in Ibza, where your diet (mine anyway) completely stops :lol:

Its just after the colour it comes out, something cant be right :lol:

The colours nothing to worry about, it's just the stuff your body can't assimilate.

P.S. The Boots brand is in an orange tub.

Fergie, I did a bit of Marketing work for one of Berocca's main competitors and what I was told was that within the vitamin industry Berocca is the best you can buy, don't know how much truth there is in that but this was from their competitors and independent body so they would have no reason to exaggerate their claims.

It's the same with anything, you're always going to get conflicting reports, what works for some people and their lifestyles isn't going to work for others. If it doesn't seem to have any obvious benefits for you then I wouldn't bother taking it, I only take things if I can tell I'm getting some benefit from them.

Oh and just seen your earlier question about 5HTP, if I go out on a Saturday night I'll double drop them next time I go to bed (normally the Sunday night) and then depending on how harsh a sesh it was double drop on the Monday before bed and maybe one on Tuesday before bed. But as above that works for me but isn't necessarily going to work for other people.

There's no doubting, it is good stuff.

All i'm saying is that the ingredients are of such high levels, you end up pissing most of it out - especially if your intake is already good through a healthy diet. The yellow piss is a perfect indicator of the wastage.

If your piss isn't yellow, it means you haven't saturated your RDA.

I've tried loads over the years and found the Boots one to be spot on for me i.e. slightly brighter yellow wee.

Not that i'm a regular wee watcher or anything :lol:

Suppose it's easier for us guys to keep an eye on coloration.
