The other half is taking me to Berlin for my birthday, either this month or next. Neither of us has been and are looking at where the best place to stay would be. I don't think we would go clubbing, although am tempted by Panorama Bar, but would definitely want to do all the 'sites'.
What is the best area and are there any particular hotels people would recommend? I quite fancy a quirky, boutique one although possibly not as insane as this place: http://www.propeller-island.com/english/2/4/
