Benirras advice

Hi

Looking at driving down to Benirras beach for the sunset on Sunday, looking at posts on this it states that you need to get there early to get a parking space close by, by early does this mean early evening (or late afternoon) or early in the day (ie morning)?

Reason I ask is I have the misses n two kids in tow and don't fancy walking back up the winding road at dusk. Was hoping to go to another beach close by then drive down to Benirras after lunch.

Thanks in advance, Tom

Get there no later than 7.30pm, by that time they are parking right up the hill. Ideally probably best around 6ish then you can swim in the sea and enjoy the late afternoon sun, then maybe grab a bite to eat in one of the restaurants before sunset : )

Thanks Ruth, we will be there just after lunch, about 2ish, so based on that will assume all ok on the parking. Thanks again, Tim

It's luck of the draw a bit with the parking - I've been there when the lower parking has been full around lunchtime (1.30 to 4ish) then it clears a bit before people start flocking in again late afternoon.

Seems much quieter this month than usual and it's August when you get the the worst parking problems at the beaches so wouldn't worry too much about it. Also weather makes a big difference.. clear skies mean many more cars in the day but wind like yesterday or haze like Tuesday leads to about a 50% drop in the number of people.

Hope you enjoy it.
