Beginning of October. What's it like?

Not all that fussed on the weather as I know it's pretty nice still but with the chance of some cooler/colder days. What I would like to know, are there many restaurants and bars still open? We would be looking to stay in San Antonio or the Bay area like we did last week. However, if it's more practical to stay elsewhere we can do that as travel wouldn't be an issue as we would be leaving the child here in the Uk. We don't drive so would rely on busses and taxis. I know about the busses run less frequently during the closed season.

So what do you recommend? :)

Go for it, I usually do. Start of the month almost everything is still open, tourist places start to shut gradually and you might not even notice until about the 20th when it gets really quiet. Of course, we hope the weather stays good....

Cheers. I shall let the wifey know :) (I would have thought it still would be open and not like a ghost town but nice to know first hand from someone that it will be ok to go )

What's the crack with busses between San an and bossa in October. Heard party bus stops but are there standard busses and what time do they stop? Sorry if this has been answered

there are the regular buses all year around. it´s line 3 and this is the winter schedule starting 1st october

SANT ANTONI - SANT RAFEL - EIVISSA
DE LUNES A VIERNES (mon to fri)
De 07:00 a 21:00 h
Frecuencia: cada 30 min. (every 30 min)
Ultima salida: 22:00 h.

SABÁDOS (saturdays)
De 07:00 a 14:30 cada 30 min
De 14:30 a 23:30 cada 60 min.

DOMINGOS Y FESTIVOS (sundays and bank holidays)
De 07:30 a 22:30 cada 60 min.

so the only thing is you don´t have any really late buses going and if you go for dinner to ibiza town and return late you might have to take a taxi instead.

I love September and October - the sea's still warm enough to swim in and most places are open, but rarely busy enough to be a problem. Often the weather's more settled in October but of course long spells of dry weather can't now be guaranteed unlike June/July...which adds to the fun.
