Beaches!!

Hello,

Myself along with 2 girlfriends will be in Ibiza this June--first time trip for all 3!

We're having a bit of problems deciding which beaches to check out. Ideally we want a place with the most beautiful blue water and fun people to just relax and have fun! Unfortunately we do not have a rental car--will this be a problem?

We're staying in the Playa d'en Bossa area.
All suggestions are welcome!!

Thanks,

Chalang

it will me much easier to get to places with a car... virtually inmpossible to get to some without a car.. or hitching.. is there a reason why you're not getting one? it will work out cheaper than buses/taxis if you are sharing

Playa d'en bossa beach possibly??? :) but you might have trouble relaxing with the happy party people and planes flying overhead. Ibiza is only a small island so its only gonna cost around 25-30 Euros if that to reach the furthest place from where you are staying, split the cost between you.

I agree, PDB beach is great for bora bora, but not very pretty... waaaay nicer beaches in other parts of the island where you will need a car to get to.

You can get a bus to some beaches eg Salinas but if you want to try a lot of other beaches you're best getting a car.

russagreed. the beaches at pdb are pretty grim actually. hire a car and head NORTH.
or south - the island is surrounded by beautiful beaches with the likes of Es Cavalet and Salinas within walking distance South and many others best with a car - look on the beaches link on this site as well as those on my site below.

I love to see post on the beaches. As Tony says hire a car. Even if it's just for A day . Have a drive round to many diffrent places as you can. and then the next time you go you can go to your Fav. Every body has there Fav's but you have plenty to choose locally PDB is one of the biggest in Ibiza but can get a bit loud. Salinas is only a short Taxi ride and as 3 sections (1 Nude) well worth a look.

PDB is Ibiza's longest beach and it gets quieter (apart from the planes) if you can be bothered to hike up to the Salinas end of the beach. That's the other end from Ibiza Town.

Alternatively, if you want fabulous beaches and turquoise seas, why not go over to Formentera? You can get a small boat from Figueretas or something bigger from the port in Ibiza. The advantage of getting one of the smaller boats is they usually drop you right on the beach.

Cala Tarrida is my fave on the south of the island. Puerto San Miguel is nice as well towards the north, but my fave beach up there is Cala Benirras.

Without question Salinas has something for everyone - from Malibu for your Jet setters at one end moving past Jockey Club and on to Sa Trinxa at the far end for the trendy young things - there is something for everyone !!! Also easy access to the beautiful clear blue sea - and always something to see !!!
