We will be staying in san an directly on the "beach" but i hear it it tiny. where is the beach to be at during the day.......obviously apart from bora bora where i suspect we will spend a lot of time too. 8)

If you go catch a ferry then you will find much better beaches than anything San An has to offer > > Calla Bassa & Cala Conta but personally I always prefer the east coast for Bora Bora but also check out Les Salinas! 
Cala Conta is lovely and is reachable from san An by bus and ferry.
Also try Cala Gracio and Cala Salada if you don't want to travel too far.
Salinas is the beach to see and be seen but there are loads of other wonderful beaches too. Bora Bora at PDB builds up slowly during the day.
