Theres not often a remix is better than the original in my opinion... but can it be said that Joris Voorn's remix of Nalin & Kane's Beachball out this year is one that beats the original?

I'm undecided
 
I think that people should require permission before they remix certain Classics like Beachball. The kind of permission you need if making changes to a listed or protected building.

Beachball was released during a Golden Era of Dance music when it sounded fresh and exciting. A time when there was no U-Tube, Beatport or I -Tunes and the first play that you would hear was when it was dropped on a dancefloor or in my case some dusty, vinyl record store on 12"!


P.S I dont think too much of the remix too down tempo.........

The first time i heard the new version i hated it.... really really hated it. Having heard it a few times in Ibiza it's grown on me a little because it now has good memories associated with it but to be honest i still think it's rubbish compared to the original or Myon & Shane54s remix.
 
Remixing certain Dance Classics is like redecorating a Victorian House with PVC windows.


Tunes like these should have protection orders on them............

Heard a new version of ' the lover that you are ' the other day. It is very close to the original so no offence done.

Where as Beach ball is utter ****e IMO.

No. The original grabs you as soon as you hear it - this version is too understated.

Definitely a tune that should have been left as it was and definitely Voorn's weakest remix so far.

I would serve asbos on them myself but horses for courses...
 
not only the dance classics are beeing raped. look at ferrer's 'hey hey' - there are already 342970934 remixes around ...
