in the port, apart from cafes/tapas bars (mar y sol, can pou, etc), you can also find open music bars like..........

· the mao rooms (more info here)

· social club (c. d'enmig 11)
a new one that opened this winter, run by the people of lo cura (c. antoni marí ribas, opened last summer). hofer66 from the fantastic magazine dub is the resident dj and they also have guests every week (bruno from cafe del mar was djing there two weeks ago). open thu + fri + sat (10pm-4am)

· la tierra + la oveja negra (c. trinitat)
two of the oldest bars in the port. mainly spanish music. open thu + fri + sat

· de miedo (c. trinitat 6)
musically the most eclectic (from soul music to punk rock and everything inbetween) and, for many, the best bar in the port (obviously the fans of some of its over-priced/over-rated/over-everything neighbor bars along the marina would never agree)..........

:arrow: wed - incortum (shortfilms, organized by the association incortum)
:arrow: thu - concerts
:arrow: fri + sat - different djs every week (daisy heartbreaker with her eclectic punk-indie-britpop-electroclash mix, javi box from the band pete colours with a more retro selection, etc)

.......... told me that he re-opens croissant show this friday for a month or so, and then they will close again to do some reforms to our favourite cafe!! :D

the favourite bar of our moderator friend james is open too. angel cielo (the resident of el ayoun in san rafael) is one of the djs you can find there sometimes. open fridays and saturdays..........

no. it has been closed since february 2003 (although the offices underneath are still open) and it will be knocked down..........



btw, can pou reopens on march 15th!! :p

the same day it starts there an exposition by juan blanco with 35 b/w pictures taken at the injuve jazz festival in dalt vila last year which, on its opening day, will include a jazz band playing live from 8pm!! :D

the pictures will be exposed during one month!! :idea:

funkin irie in c. sa xeringa just lasted one year and it has been closed during all the winter. now with new management (the same guys of pasta luego next door) it reopened recently as cafe luego :!:
