the only music bar open in es cana this winter is granny's (next to hotel ereso), run by the guy who was behind kancela last winter. thursday to sunday from 9.30pm :!:

la alternativa in can siré (near jesús) is open every night - from 10.30pm to 4am :!:

(although yesterday there was one of their infamous private parties with the minimal/electro djs giangiu and simone.......... ;) )

· mariners is closed for reforms

· es rickshaw closes this weekend and will re-open the last weekend of february

the same djs are behind a new monthly themed party called happy family, that will take place the second saturday of every month from midnight till.......... ;)

the place will be specially decorated for each party. the first one is this saturday (theme: cotton club) :!:

People are at home in the UK dreaming of sitting overlooking the blue med, with a glass of their favourite tipple, eating good food and just chilling out. Lots of us know of some of the best places to do this in the winter, and if you are on the east of the island, then one of these is Sol Den Serra. Bar restaurant Sol Den Serra could hardly be any closer to the sea, and we are told has it's own unique ambiance caused by the noise the sea makes as it laps over the stones at the waters edge, it really is a relaxing place. Open from 12 mid-day to 7 pm, they have a range of what Jason the proprietor calls, international tapas, which he says are that little bit more sophisticated, and appealing to the northern European taste, than some of the more traditional local ones (no grilled pigs ears here :lol: ). A selection of such delicacies as spicy chicken wings, garlic mushrooms, spare-ribs, chicken in peanut curry, prawns in marie rose sauce, sausages in a spicy sauce, or rosemary potatoes- makes my mouth water just writing about it- starting at as little as 4 €euros for what are generous portions. If you prefer a sandwich then there is a range of those, as well as a choice of sweets. A good quality bottle of wine is 10,50 Euro. If all of this is more than you want to eat, then why not just sit and have a relaxing coffee, or play a game of chess, backgammon, or cards, and laze away an afternoon in Sol Den Serra. There is loads of parking space, and if you feel a bit energetic, you can take a short or longer walk, either along the cliffs, or into the surrounding countryside, either way there are some beautiful views of The Far East.
