a new tapas bar called es llimoner* in c. carlos III (on the corner at the right of the bar cafe concert itaka) should be ready for the next spring!! :p

apparently the idea is to do a mixture between bar costa (santa getrudis), el zaguan (ibiza town) and es galliner (san josé)!! :eek:

es llimoner is owned by the people behind other well known bars in es pratet (the spanish music bars embassy of ibiza, mei -both in c. carlos V- and el desván -in c. felipe II-) and the new aramón (c. cayetano soler, previously know as el templo) next to the plaza del parque. during the winter all these bars are open on thursday, friday and saturday!! :idea:

and talking about the area with probably the busiest music bars in ibiza town during the winter, at the beginning of october a new place opened in es pratet: sin :!:

the difference with the other bars next door is that sin plays house music and it also opens as an afterhours!! :p
 
another busy place in es pratet on weekends is cafe el pirata in av. santa eulalia (near the McDonalds, overlooking the port)!! :p

now apart from delicious pizzas they also have dj sessions. every friday daisy heartbreaker will be behind the desks with an eclectic mix of punk rock, indie, britpop, electroclash and everything inbetween. this summer she was at the bar amargo in sa penya (c. de la virgen 22) every friday on the 80s-britpop-electro-punk party the battle of love garage and sometimes she also djs at de miedo in the port (callejón trinidad 6) :!:

cafe el pirata (previously known as cafe novecento) opened last summer and its owned by the people behind the famous el pirata in the port (c. cipriano garijo 10)!! :idea:

and every saturday graham sahara (funky room@pacha), who this winter is also djing at sol den serra (wednesdays) and guaraná (fridays) plus some other special events :!:

.......... and it closed around christmas. now it has the se traspasa sign!! :confused:

they havent even lasted a year..........



not far from the disappeared cafe el pirata you can find open a more chilled cafe called les nuits blaues (known long ago as the bulldog and more recently, the other place) :!:

now the everytime more popular sin also opens on tuesdays with an event called urban city. tonight for example it includes an exposition of pictures taken last year in ibiza town during the manifestation against the famous terrorist attack in madrid (11-M) :!:

this week is also the start of a new house music party on wednesdays called balearica (instead of playmovie) with sergi villalta, brother of jordi villalta (amnesia, europa fm, etc)!! :idea:

· tuesdays - urban city with vidal rodriguez + david peca
· wednesdays - balearica with sergi villalta
· thursdays - girlz skool with jill "b'fly" canney + toga
· fridays + saturdays - inti demanes
 
· es llimoner is already open!! 8)

· after some problems with the neighbours which ended up with their music sealed, el desván will reopen soon with new owners, new decoration, etc :!:

btw, although is not in es pratet aramón (c. cayetano soler 3) is open again after the complaints from the neighbors due to the noise, which ended up with the bar having to close during various months to soundproof the place, etc. open on fridays and saturdays from midnight till 6am (from may open every night). some of you might remember when it was called el templo and used to have trance music..........
 
and tonight it opened yet another new bar in these every-time-more-popular area: stick (c. felipe II 15, next to el desván) :!:

another new cool place that just opened in es pratet is the restaurant sal i pebre (corner between c. felipe II and c. josé maría cuadrado). 14€ menu!! :idea:

btw, today i noticed that made in italy have moved their office from pl. constitutución to this area..........
 
i'm with mackie on es llimoner. jaki and i went there at easter and we were only paying €2 for an enormous balantines on ice! a heavily pregnant pilar costa was there too.

not a big surprise since the office of his brother (also lawyer, like her) is just around the corner and she works, or used to work, there!! :idea:

btw, i bet you didnt know that es llimoner is co-owned by the son of a very famous bald pro-highway politician with which she had many, many fights in the past!! :twisted:
