Going for a short trip 2nd June to 7th.
Will be requiring:

Decent clubs
Cheesy/middle of the road clubs for the dukeys
T 1 tty bars
where to go/not to go for optional holiday extras
Anything else worth doing or seeing... any football on?

t1 tty bars... well it's a stag do... so that type of bar.
Optional extras. More a case of where not to go really. What areas should you avoid if you're not from round that way?

In other words, it's a bachelor party before someone in their group gets married... bunch of guys out partying together. As for t1tty bars, they want a place where they can watch women dance and squirm naked

Kes, I think you should go to La Terrazzza on saturday, it's the opening party, the official summer start in Barcelona 8) It's an awsome open air club. Try to get tickets in advance and be very carefull on the doors, bouncers are known as the most stupid bouncers in the world
they don't like stag dos and big groups, so try to get in separatly

I'm not sure if I understand the cheesy clubs for the dukeys.
About bars I recommend you to explore las Ramblas and the two areas around

Don't worry about areas to avoid. You will spend most of your time in the old city, and altho it can look strange because of the small streets and all that it's a very safe area.

And about footby check www.fcbarcelona.com there's no games but you can visit the stadium

Don't worry about areas to avoid. You will spend most of your time in the old city, and altho it can look strange because of the small streets and all that it's a very safe area.

Not entirely safe... some gypsies stole about $100 (or the peseta equivalent) from my wife's purse when we were there in '98/'99.

Club sounds cool. With regards to cheesy (tacky, commercial, mainstream) club for the dukeys (coffin dodgers, older people):

Some of our party are in their fourtys so may not appreciate the more underground sound. Would probably prefer a more mainstream club.

Right,
La terrazzza is serious clubbing, house and "fiesta". IMO it's a must do for anyone into the scene visiting Barcelona, but probably it's too much for people in their 40's, they can be quite scared

Bikini is a good option, it's a big venue with two rooms, one is radio hits and the other one is quite latin. Your older friends won't feel out of place

i was just asking where to avoid should some members decide to go for walkabouts. For instance if one was ibiza and one wanted some sunglasses one should refrain from purchasing said sunglasses from the lucky luckys... if at all possible

Yes, but I insist it was 6/7 years ago... and you would be impresses how different is nowadays the old city

And I never said you don't need to be careful, but there's no need to be paranoid it's as safe as any big city full of tourists

The Ramblas at the bottom end can be a bit scary in the wee small hours.It looks like a scene from the Benny Hill show when you`ve got half a dozen ladies of the night scampering along behind you trying to pick your pockets!!
