I know this topic has been on before but anyone who has been there could you please give me some names of nice hotels, nothing too expensive but somewhere clean and friendly.

I stayed in the H10 Mercada, just round the corner from the Banys Oriental.

Massive roof terrrace, bar and jacuzzi, great staff, reasonably priced. I would defo go back to that hotel again.

I booked it on lastminute.com - it was one of those secret hotels, and i got about 40% off the list price.

really? the Banys looked really smart too, thought it would be mega expensive.

It's much cheaper than you'd expect - think it's about 80 euros a night for a standard room and 120 euros for a suite - agree completely about the location as well

try the hotel diagnol I think it's called. Wicked hotel, one of the best stayed at. Not cheap though but worth it and if you fly into Girona airport instead you'll save a few quid that way too.
