Having a ministry chat with the girlies at work and discussing the safety implications of dancing on the bar.

I've had many a silly moment up there which has almost lead to a fall...especially when Anna and I thought we'd experiment with a show off twirly moment at Faith/SS. :lol:

I'm just thinking about how awful and embarrassing it would be to fall into the bar. Given that the Ministry has been opening its doors for over a decade and week after week, people are getting up there in all manner of states, this MUST have happened before.

I've never known anyone frequent the venue as much as you so do you have any knowledge of this happening?

(Please say yes cos it will give me a mid week chuckle and I could do with one.)
 
Not to my knowledge no, and if someone was going to fall off the bar then I would probably be the prime suspect wouldn't I with my record of clubbing injuries :oops: 8O :lol:

My only embarrassing moment on the bar was a few years ago and I was throwing some shapes at 5am in the morning wearing a VERY short skirt 8O A few days later in that wk Phil had asked me to go to a Ministry forum with the staff, DJs, music bods and moi as the resident clubber :lol: He introduced me to Gary the General Manager and Gary goes 'oh I know you VERY well or should I say your bum, didn't you notice half my staff gathering behind the bar on Saturday night as you flashed your bum to all and sundry' :oops: :lol:

That's when I started investing in knicker shorts :lol:

It really is a recipe for disaster tho isn't it that bar, everytime I start clambering up on it I can see the panic on Tom's face 8O :lol: Shall we make it our mission to be the first Ministry bar casualties 8O :lol: :lol:
 
babs, you used to go "Venus" in nottingham, circa 91-93??

Bar/table dancing was the norm in there, made even more precarious by James Bailley soaking you with the soda gun "coyote ugly" stylee :lol:

Yes! 8O :lol:

It's one of those things that would be really awful at the time but imagine owning it on your clubbing cv!

I'd be soooo proud recounting the experience in years to come! :lol:

What shall we do? Hold hands, close our eyes, think of England and jump? :lol:

I'm quite excited now. What do you think we should wear for the fall because we may end up in the music press! 8O

I think we need to have a few practice goes away from the club, so many things to think about - are we going to fall forward or backwards?? What will get us the most sympathy (attention :lol: )

Def need a new costume for the night, we are soooo going to be in all the music press, in fact shall I have a sneaky word and get our plans leaked out so that they're all out there in force 8O :lol:

We need to find a photographer to capture the event and make it look like it was a candid stroke of luck. :lol:

Re: Direction of fall - definately backwards for maximum damage on impact. :lol:

I might have to buy a really expensive Galliano t-shirt I spotted in Selfridges for the occasion. ;)

Can we jump off Jamie's sofa for a practice or should we find an actual mock up bar?

(I'm thinking 3am would be a good time to go for.)

Ooh it's going to be our 5 mins of fame :lol:

We shall have to make sure our outfits co-ordinate :lol:

I think we should start with Jamie's sofa, then move on to a mock-up bar and then once our moves are sorted, pick a really busy Ministry night to perform our star turn 8O :lol:

It might be a good idea to dive bomb SecretSundaze from the top area of the light bar!

Maybe that could be a follow up event for next summer. It could be an annual feature.

I'm scared now I'm going to injure myself and my ankle is still funked from my last clubbing injury :? :lol: :lol:

Do we want our clubbing careers cut short for 5 mins of fame :? :lol:

Can we schedule it in then for when I get back from Ibiza in September then, if fact if we do cause minor injuries to ourselves it could do us good cos then we'd have to have an enforced detox so everyone's a winner :D :lol: :lol:

Do you think we care about a few broken legs in the bid for fame 8O :lol: Believe me I've broken my leg before and being in a wheelchair and you get soooooo much sympathy and attention :lol:
