Bank Charges

today is a great day!

One 'more' up for the little guy...

was taking my bank to court over their charges, even had a court date through and guess what landed on the mat this morning!!!

a letter from the bank saying they've done a reconcilliation of my account and without admission of liability ( whatever!) they've decided to settle my claim in full! Get in! interest charges as well plus the 30 pounds i had to shell out to take them to court.

well pleased!8)

well done!!! :D More Ibiza spends then! ;)

yes definitely I'm quite chuffed really, it wasn't a massive amount but it was the principle of it. Don't know why they didn't just pay up in the first place instead it having to go as far as nearly going to court in a fortnight

go for it, it's a long drawn out process but worth it in the end! What get's them in the end is when you ask them to declare what it really costs them to put charges on your account etc they duck answering that question and just pay out from what i've been reading. if you go onto the consumeractiongroup forum they've got copies of every letter you need to send etc...

good work and good news!

i have sent a letter asking for significantly more over six years - particulalry when i was young, foolish and poor and they seemed to hit me for 50 quid a month for buying beans the day before pay day! if recieved it would pay for ibiza hol & nearly my spends also.

it is definitely worth doing, if you need any help pm me or have a look at the consumer action group forum - they have all the letters you need to send, there's even help on calculation for the interest they OWE YOU for the money they've taken in charges from you!
