bank account.....

Hi, i'm coming over to work this summer and i'm currently sorting out my funds for the summer. just wondering to anyone who's done it before did they use their current bank accounts from the UK or after getting their NIE did they get a spanish bank account? Thanks in advance

Depends on what you need an account for. You can set one up easy enough with your nie. When i did mine you have to put around 50 euros in and its costs around 10 euros to open. My bank opens weird hours like 7am to 1pm i think it is. Something to keep in mind when choosing what bank.

thanks, its basically for general living. wether it would be better using a spanish account or my UK one. someone back home will have all the money i have saved for the season and will be putting amounts in as and when i need it. i'm not having it all in my account when i start because i will spend it all rather quick.
