Are there any recent Balearic House CD's out there that anyone could recommend to me??

Thanks in advance.... :D

well! all the beach house hed kandi cd´s are amongst my favourites. try them! another oldie however is "Undiscovered aprects" great mellow house there too!

IG, do you consider Hed Kandi Balearic House?

I would say try anything from Chus and Cevallos (or is it Ceballos)

it's ceballos.....

& hed kandi is so NOT balearic house !!!!
it's more commercial house that has a "dancey" feel 2 it that the DJs feed to the english on holidays in ibiza.....
(sorry) :?

i'd recommend a cd called : La Terazzza (Barcelona) myself

Kevino,

La Terrazza is a club in barcelona, check their site: www.nightsungroup.com

Not sure if there's english version tho...

Thank you...

There are 3 La Terrazza CD's on the site though. I wonder which one discoplayer was refering to?

Also, I know Chus & Ceballos are known for their "Iberican" sound. Is that similar to Balearic House?

Just to give you an idea, these tracks embody the 'Iberican' sound.
1>DJ Chus Feat The Groove Foundation - This Feeling
2>Carl Cox Feat Hannah Robinson - Give Me Your Love
3>Delgado - Coffee Beats (From 2002)
As far as i can figure out this is what the 'iberican' sound is. Although, as pointed out in the earlier thread, it is just a name.
If you are not that particular about the funky house sound. I'd personally recommend the Type cd mixed by Seb Fontaine or The Made In Italy cd mixed by resident Dj Ralf. The latter has some fab tunes in it.

well well i dunno wheither the hed kandi cd´s are or arent GENUINE balaeric house or not, i JUST simply like what I hear! thats all sweety....... ;)

tbh balearic isnt really a genre its just a buzz word. There isnt a great deal of house music which is done on the golden isle. Chus & ceballos are the main 'iberican sound' pioneers as mentioned before.

I can understand why hed kandi was suggested though, its what a lot of people think is synonymous with the island and which is pretty popular with its visitors. Thats not my view but its what gets hammered into us by various adverts!!

Balearic house used to be a genre, it died pretty much in the early nineties.

Any of the old Balearic beat albums (if you can find them) if not the old Balearic mastercuts albums.

and to be fair, Beach House one is still pretty synonimous (sp?) to the Ibiza sound of now like it or not.

I dont care whiether its balaeric or not, as long as it brings back fond memories or makes me wanna jump onboard the next plane headed for the balaerics, then its ok with me, adds or not! ;)
