After six hedonistic years throwing legendary parties at Stinky's Peephouse in Leeds, clubbing institution Back to Basics will move onto pastures new and take residency at its new home, The Warehouse, Leeds from 21st January 2012.

For the first time ever, Basics will switch from weekly to fortnightly events, allowing the team behind the night more time crafting the best parties, the sharpest DJ line-ups, and ultimately, dedicating more time to its world class Basics' crowd.

The move marks the beginning of a new era for Basics as it joins forces with one of the oldest venues in Leeds, and with Basics now holding the title as the longest running club night in the world, the partnership between promoter and venue is unquestionably a force to be reckoned with.

As a venue, The Warehouse is simply untouchable which goes hand-in-hand with Basics which has paved the way for club culture since the early nineties. Basics' guest DJs and infamous residents will be at home on the venue's Funktion One sound system and state of the art DJ equipment, and clubbers will revel in the mind blowing lighting displays and colour laser shows. The Warehouse has some changes of its own planned in the New Year as it's set to expand into the surrounding grounds to open a third room.

The Warehouse is a prolific venue in the heart of Back to Basics' pioneering promoter, Dave Beer, who as a clubber was a regular during the 1980s. It also holds a poignant memory for Dave as it was here where he and best mate, Ali Cooke, exchanged handshakes with DJ Ralph Lawson as they entered a pact to set up Back to Basics.

Dave Beer commented: “After the 20th birthday, it was so good and we couldn't do anymore there. Basics has moved home nearly every 5 years or so and I didn't want Basics to become complacent. So in true tradition, it felt right for the move. Basics has always been about being true to its integrity and not becoming stale. There were good times at Stinky's, but we felt we needed to up our game and keep this exciting – perfect for 2012.

Former Leeds' venues also to have housed Back to Basics include its first ever home, The Music Factory, The Mint Club, and Rehab, and with each integral move, Basics has continued to stick to its original ideas.

Our first 4 line up's are of the highest quality and will give you an insight into why we have made this move. For our re-opening party on January 21st we have invited a true legend in Lil' Louis who will join Gavin Herlihy and our residents. Following that, the mighty Rebel Rave roll into town with Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry and Russ Yallop on February 4th. Circoloco resident Matthias Tanzmann makes his long overdue return to Basics on the 18th February, before Kerri Chandler returns to Basics on the 3rd of March for the first time since our unforgettable 1000th party.

With a massive 20 year history behind it and it now being 2012, the end of the world as we know it, the time is ideal for Basics to make it's move. Always “Two Steps Further Than Any Other ****er”, Basics is positioned once again to bring something new and exciting to the UK scene, and looks forward to welcoming you back to the dance floor.

I think Stinky's will struggle without basics. No wonder they were looking for promoters.

Stinkys is a fine venue for that back in the day dirty dance club party but the layout was never brilliant with the walkway across the dancefloor to get outside always in the way. Had some gr8 nights there over the past few years, it could hardly have been different from the previous venue when @ rehab!

Lil Louis is not a bad way to start the new season off :)

Wasn't Basics pretty much Stinky's biggest (and only big) night?
I know the guys I'm playing for never tend to have a big crowd.

May have to go check Warehouse out. Been meaning to since it reopened.

Wasn't Basics pretty much Stinky's biggest (and only big) night?

Was usually rammed when we went (big nights and birthdays), when all the floors were open and full, on quieter nights only the main room was usually open, but still a fair sized crowd. It's not a bad achievement to have the longest running club night in the world, the guys behind this obviously know how to keep the show on the road.

As you say, sadly the Stinky's venue might struggle. How about a dirty stinking after hours venue for Sundays

I'd quite like to organise a trip out of London to one of these.

Saw Lil Louis at Boysown not long ago - was brilliant. 8)

Nothing on the scale of London but Leeds is a fab city these days and it's not so cold as people think oop north :)

Speak for yourself, it's freezing
But I'm a dirty southerner, used to the warmer climate of the south ;)

Yes, I will definitely agree that it is freezing. :(

Gig went well. Night was fairly quite as expected. Had 15 people in my room at one point, so it could of been worse!
