Ba flights to ibiza from londoncity airport

Just booked 2 flights for this July from London City to Ibiza Direct £130 each ON BA

Nice small private jet type plane (well 76 seater)

Must have only started today as they were only showing Gatwick last night when i looked
When did they announce this???

Saw this a couple of days ago,MSN I think, it did say from 65 each way, I did'nt look further but did think yeah ! it's all in the FROM ! it's only july and august though I think,def sell out & prices up now.

Yes, I know you did,I can just about count simple money but I was being cynical about the amount of tickets they would sell at that lowest (good) price !
Think you might have got the first 2 tickets.

Just looked at the BA site, I was wrong, these flights start in may,as of tonight the first available is 21st may £104 one way,then £77,£66 next couple of days,looks like you pay cheap one way,a bit more to come back on a weeks trip, averages £200 roughly.
Into july as well....
Not bad overall and very convenient if you are in the area, I think I read meal & drinks + short check in + luggage inc.

At those prices, I'd be down there a couple of weekends a month

It costs us the equivalent of at least £435 pounds to get there (over $700). And that's after spending days online playing with all permutations of Moscow to Barca/Madrid and then Madrid/Barca to Ibiza

First BA leisure flights from City Airport
15 December, 2009


Flights to Majorca and Ibiza will be the first leisure services to be run
by British Airways from London City Airport.
The move comes as the airline seeks to meet demand for short sun breaks.

The services are due to start in May
and will initially run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
using new Embraer 190 aircraft.

BA plans to increase the frequency in the peak summer months.

One-way fares start at £69 including taxes and charges ...

Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager for BA CityFlyer,
the wholly owned BA subsidiary which will operate the services, said:
“We primarily operate a business schedule from London City Airport,
but we do believe these leisure destinations will be extremely popular.

“There is a growing population living and working in the city of London
who want to take time off at the weekends and the Balearic Islands
is a perfect destination.
With just two hours 15 minutes flying time and a minimum check-in time
of 15 minutes at London City Airport it maximises their personal time.
We are also offering very competitive all-inclusive fares.”

I was agreeing with you and bemoaning the fact.

How about if I phrase it this way:
People who can take those 130 pound round-trip BA flights from London City Airport to Ibiza are lucky because they can travel early and often to Ibiza on those flights, from convenient London City Airport. SOME people in other parts of Europe spend over 3 times that amount to get there.

I flew to Barcelona from London City on a similar type plane last year. It was brilliant! It's like flying in a car or small bus, it's so fast on the ground and you really feel every bump of turbulence too!

City airport is brilliant though, no stress, easy to get to, fast check-ins. I would choose this airport EVERY time if I could. It's worth paying a bit more for the ease of flying like this 8)
