Anyone watching? Favorites? Predictions? (anything aside from Federer-Nadal...)

I dozed off early last night and woke up way too early so I watched Serena Williams v Nadia Petrova. Good match, and great fightback by Serena to win.

I saw a bit of Federer - Youzhny too... usual steamroller action from the Swiss. I decided another hour or 2 of sleep was more interesting

Following the score for Roddick v Safin online right now. Looks like a great match...

i hate roddick, as i've said before, he is the most 1D player in the top10/20 and whenever he gets dumped out by someone ranked 50 places lower than him, it never surprises me.

all he has ever done is won some mid ranking tournys (not many or none at all were ATP master series) and oh yeah, got whooped by fed ex in a few finals and never ever improved once or tried something diff against him.

vamos nadal!!:D

i hate roddick,

cant wait for andy murray to get to the semis and lose in a "brave" & "Galant" way, get a knighthood in the queens birthday honours list, and then get torn to shreads by the UK press for not winning every game he plays him.

I always find it amusing how the UK press puts so much hope/pressure on one player to such an extent that he can never live up to the nation's expectations. Witness: Henman, Rusedski (Canuck!) and now Murray.

I don't "hate" Roddick but he's usually not much fun to watch. Check your stats, though. I think he's won quite a few Masters series events.

Safin could have been one of the greats based on talent, but his refusal to cut out the partying, the niggling injuries, etc. have diminished his impact. Oh, and his inability to control his temper (he's a Tatar, and in Russia they're known for having a bad temper... the missus is half Tatar so I tend to believe the stereotype )

Yep... miss the shot then hit the ground really hard with his racket

Results just in: Roddick through to the next round, Safin out. Waiting now for angry text from the missus...

were a nation of sporting bandwagon jumpers, and generally love to reward people who try their best, who dont actually win something... a bit like grego.
