Where should we stay in Ibiza for 3 nights?

Hey everyone. I am planning my honeymoon for this August and we have decided to stay in Majorca for 4 nights, Barcelona for at least 2, and we are considering Ibiza for 2-3 nights.

We are in our mid/late 20s and aren't really into clubbing. Given that Ibiza is known for it's clubbing that time of year, would a 2-3 night stay in Ibiza be worthwhile if we don't plan on going to nightclubs? We definitely like to drink and have fun, but we are looking more for water activities, beaches, and restaurants.

At the moment, we are tentatively planning on 3 nights in San Antonio, but we are looking for some solid advice on A) if we should go to Ibiza at all and B) if San Antonio is the right place for us.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Cue one of the forum mods posting that the overwhelming vast majority of visitors to Ibiza don't go clubbing...

You're certainly coming "in the thick of it" so to speak.

Of course there is lots to do in Ibiza besides clubbing, and you'll find plenty to do. I recommend exploring the Spotlight pages for inspiration.

A visit to Dalt Vila is a must, but you needn't stay in Ibiza Town for that. San Antonio probably isn't the all out party its reputation lends, but you might feel more at home basing yourselves elsewhere. Might I recommend Figueretas ;)

where exactly you stay is pretty secondary in my opinion; I'd make sure it's something you like if it's your honeymoon! if you come for 2 or 3 nights, you'll be wanting to see some of the highlights of the island I guess, so you'll have to move around a bit anyway - either by bus/taxi or by renting a scooter or a car. ibiza is a really small island, it takes you max 20 minutes to get from san antonio to ibiza town and north-south tip to tip is one hour maybe.

as WIC says, ibiza town with dalt vila is a must-see. then check out some of the beaches. go see es vedra. see the sunset from the west side of the island. stuff like that.

even if you're not a clubber, I know very few people only that have visited ibiza and genuinely didn't like it. just make sure you're not hanging around in whichever resort you end up going to, but actually see some of the island! definite recommendation from my end to include ibiza in your honeymoon trip.

Thanks for the info WIC/Stivi. We've decided to include Ibiza in our trip. The next step is finding a suitable hotel. When working my way through the hotels section of the Spotlight site, I've come across a few that look good.

First, in Figueretas there is Nautico Ebeso which looks great in the pictures. I looked it up on Tripadvisor and it has received a large number of "terrible" reviews. Has anyone stayed at this hotel or have any other Figueretas recommendations?

Second, in San Antonio, many of the hotels are already booked for our dates; however, Hotel Bellamar looks nice and has availability. Anyone have advice on this hotel?

Lastly, any other recommendations for Hotels in Ibiza (looking at roughly 200-250 euro per night). Thanks again!

RGH, if you'd consider an apartment I'd recommend getting a seafront one at Mar y Playa in Figueretas.

Still looking for advice on hotels. Any thoughts on my previous questions?

The Hotel Bellamar is a lovely hotel. We stayed there last year and the food was the best food we have had on any holiday apart from a cruise.

There is a nice little spa in the hotel also. Very cheap about €30 for two. Don't bother with the massages as whilst the girl that does them is friendly both myself and my wife thought it was like being tickled.

The clientele are young couples ie 25/30 plus and mix of Spanish, British and German.

It has a lovely pool with nice day beds and a jucuzzi.

If you are going to San Antonio then this is the only hotel you should be looking at.

Any more questions about Bellamar then just ask ...
Just booked the bellamar for 10 days in August ,it was either the palmyra or the bellamar but the reviews weren't that good compared to the bellamar plus the bellamar was a couple of hundred pound cheaper witch helped ( more beer coupons ;) ) so I'm glad to hear from someone on this forum giving it a good review roll , any tips about staying the bellamar or requests we should ask before we go fergie ?

Ok here is a tip for you.

A certain ex Radio One Dj stays there the night before his wednesday night sets at ocean beach. We managed to blag some free entry for the party that day. Proper nice bloke is Forky

Up the top left hand corner of the restuarant they have a machine you can use the cut oranges to make your own fresh orange juice.

Have a look out for the man aged in his 60's with light/grey hair he watches you like a hawk in the restuarant incase you wanna sneak out some food for lunch :)

Spa is great but as we went both times in Later september the lady said that it is advisable to book in August as there is alot more guests staying at the hotel especially if you want to do it as the private version for couple only.

There is a nice restuarant below the hotel called Grill De Soliel which is moderatly priced for Ibiza. Also a local supermarket first shop on your left with plently of booze etc. Follow this road to the left and you will find perefume shops, sport shops and the excellent Pizzaman Resturant for cheap and great Pizza. There is an Indian there too but didnt have that.

All in all a great hotel with lovely staff and the chefs we also really lovely guys.

Thanks for the reply fergie, I've eaten in the restaurant below it before as I stayed in the hotel Bahia across the road which is now The OBC hotel , I'll have to keep my eye out for Forky lol very good even thou I wouldn't be to keen on going to OBC but if I was getting in for free I would def go just to see what it would be like can't go wrong if you're getting in for nothing ! The missus would be up for the spa but not to sure about myself lol also glad to hear the food is good it's my only fear when going half board that the food is terrible
