What an amazing night! Thought Fink was the worst but thats not taking anything away from him, he seemed to be a bit flat for his second set to start with but he picked up on it and cranked it up :)
I thought the vibe was perfect, friendly faces from all over the UK all there to party. Had a hellish journey back after doing cocain, mdma poppers and shed loads of alcohol and 4 hours sleep on my mates living room floor :D
Dave Clarke really did it for me couldnt go to the toilet all night until I was practically pissing myself as I didnt wanna miss out!

'twas a proper party indeed mate - and no designer pouts in evidence anywhere (unlike London on Friday night ). Really glad you enjoyed it too - well packed tho' - managed to cope by hitting the balcony a fair bit and being 'positive' getting through downstairs ;) !!!! Was so bollox'd from Friday I nearly didn't go .. would have been a BIG mistake to miss it... going to suffer big time now for all that naughtiness !

Rated Fengler, Speedy J & Dave Clarke. Ben Sims didn't really click for me for some reason and must admit I thought Finke could have done better too for such an epic occasion. Did you see the 3 nuns, Jack Sparrow or Darth Maul  ?

.. & did you go to the after-party ? bailed and left but if I'd had anything left in me would have stayed on for it.

I wanted to go to the after but my mates wouldnt come with me, turned out to be a good idea as I am still in a mess recovery wise just got out of bed since I went to bed yesterday afternoon :D Not slept much at all, just kept hearing base and seeing faces or strobelights all night and ears still not working I dont think I would of made it home yesterday if I carried on.
Remember the 3 nuns but not the others :D Shame I will probably not hit a party like that for a long time if ever again! Reminded me of my first cocoon what a change to the place now!

awesome!!!

I had a fantastic night, first ever Atomic Jam and I'll be going for more without a doubt. We were going for it from the very back of the room all night, looking down on the crowd and the stage as the lights went off, I just can't get over how good it was. I thought all of Marcel Fengler, Speedy J, Dave Clarke and Ben Sims rocked. Unfortunately had to leave at 6 as my mate got himself in a really bad state. Get the feeling it's gonna be a very different Atomic Jam if it's not at the Q Club, but I'm gonna support the night wherever it is!!

Just spotted myself in the second picture of the club :)

What a night!! We had a coach of 50 of us from Manchester. Typical that my first time there was for the last ever one. Gutted that for some reason I've never made it there before although probably due to my music taste in the past. Best club I've ever been to, what a waste for it to be closing.

Ben Sims was defo my favourite. Thought the last hour was dull.

Still far from recovered. Had yesterday off but stupidly didn't use it to rest.

Whilst I would agree with the last hour not being as explosive as the previous 7 or so you probably wont of felt the fact he was playing some classics to close the show.
duoteque - adyra
paul woolford - erotic discourse
And a proper classic in the man with the red face - laurent garnier.
The last 20 mins for me was quite sexual to be honest :)
I am sure kimjay can out a better list out of tracks played I am not really to much of an expert but it is nice when a few come in that you do know :D

^^ Chris Finke in the last hour did a bit of a tribute set which I'm sure was intended to strike a chord with some of the Jam faithful. It came straight after Sims' blinding pitched-up peak-time belter of a set. To keep pace he'd have had to speed up his set and bang it out to the bitter end. That would have been a bit limiting for a 'special set', so I can see why he chose the route he did. Guess you'll never please everyone in those circumstances. The room was so hyped after Sims it was almost inevitable that the gear-down would have left some people flat. He posted this about it after a bit of stick on the web :

"Just thought I'd mention I was playing a special 1-off classic Jam set. Had this been a normal set then It would have been a different matter. Every track I played with the exception of the very last track (Cubic / Dominator mash up) has been played at the Jam at some point and it was a stand-alone special set to say good bye to the best venue the UK has. Thanks for the comments though, it's always good to get feedback :)"

Loved it when Laurent Garnier's 'Man with the red face' got dropped. ! It was last but one of the main set (Vitalic - LaRoc followed) .. but this was then followed by a reprise track which was the mash-up Chis mentions above.

Can't recall the rest of the tracks in that set at the moment .. and the stream link to the recording is now down so can't replay either ! It's probably a set that would warrant being listened to in isolation. 10-hour party sounds a lot, but it's not really with so many top DJs on the billing and thought a great deal got crammed in to a Saturday night very successfully overall considering that.

Jayfaull & Scottish-Helen - really glad you enjoyed it so much !!! Just wish there were more events like this in UK... the underground Techno scene is very much alive but it's very disjointed / regional and lacking in sincere overlap with international scene. Nights like Saturday brought everyone together - and brought out the best in everyone.

Absolutely agree!!! Still getting shivers just thinking about the sight of the place being rammed when I entered to see nothing but techno heads absolutely ****ing loving it 8)

OK - a few more bits from that last set of Chris's, with a bit of help, why not ? .. there were loads of gems in there .. and happy to stand corrected on mixes but think these are pretty close. Hopefully the recording will come back sometime soon (or even better a track-list !) .. things really do blur !

Update from Chris Finke 1/2/2012 (via FB)

... It's great we got the last ever night at the Que filmed. Hopefully the TV footage of my final set will be live again on Be-At TV tomorrow so bare with it. I've had loads of messages about a tracklist to my last set and it'll be posted up on my Soundcloud along with the set itself tomorrow morning as well. Respect!"

We'll soon have the true facts from the horse's mouth by the looks of it

I have heard that the actual sale of the club to the developers has fallen through due to the grade 2 listing on the building and the cost involved in having to restore it, so there is always a chance of one more......
There is also a rumour of a new club being designed inside but it will be all s****y and posh so I doubt very much the vibe we experienced sat will stay with the place.

Well a lot of my mates went to the 'last Atomic Jam at the Q club' 10 years ago and have been saying they wouldn't be surprised if this one wasn't the last. It's an amazing venue and wouldn't be the same if it went upmarket
