"Raid
The Local Police in San Antonio carried out a round-up of prostitutes in the town during the early hours of one morning last week. One of the local bylaws stipulates that it is illegal to offer sexual services in the street, and a concerted effort is being made to ensure that these 'ladies of the night' do not ply their trade. A total of twelve women were arrested, all of them from Nigeria, and taken to the Police Station for identification and questioning. Seven of them did not have residency papers and were therefore living in the country illegally and handed over to the National Police for deportation. They all tried to escape the clutches of the law, but the police had placed a tight cordon around the area where they were operating and captured them. The 'girls' tend to work in groups and choose their potential customers from lads who have had a few too many as they return to their hotels.
Local businessmen and residents expressed their appreciation of the good work that the Local Police are doing, and encouraged them to conduct similar operations in the future. "
