Failing to plan is planning to fail.

If all else fails, rent a car. Oh wait ... it's August and there aren't any left, or if there are they are 150Euros a day.

Hitch hike to Es Vedra. Then use your intuition and imagination. Somewhere nearby you'll find a cave in the cliffside with a mattress you can bed down for the night for free. Just don't wind up homeless in PDB or you'll be robbed of everything you own come daylight.

Just go out into the countryside and find a quiet spot in a field... That's what i would do!!

Or go to the tower at Es Vedra and sleep in in then get up early to watch the sunrise!! Although the "owner" will probably charge you for sleeping in it now...

Hire a moped and go to the north of the island. Keep your eyes peeled for the man they call 'The Orange Juice Man'. He'll be the one sitting upright mumbling about his old life in stocks and shares. He will let you know what to do.

I've done it booking flight last thing the night before in August 2012. One of my recent trips which didn't get reviewed as I'm sure I'd have got a LOT of flack for what went on !

Pulled a stunt to bring forward an Atesa car hire booking made for the right duration but starting 3 days later when I landed saying I'd booked for the wrong day. Of course they were full also. Complete nightmare but they managed to magic a car out of somewhere . Didn't bother with a hotel and slept in the car for 3 days. Wouldn't recommend it but managed to make it work. You need a hotel or a car as a minimum - without both you are completely stuffed.

I slept on PDB beach for 2 nights in 2008... Although i missed my flight home so your point is correct...

 .. now looky looky here :spank: !!!! Slept on a few beaches (s'Estanyol .. er .. several times come to think of it  and therefore the all-time fave :D). Never PDB as WAY too many pilfering thieves for my liking - and definitely not with my stuff to fly home with in tow - that, my friend, is nothing short of asking for it !!!!

Drop the boyfriend;)

f***ing awesome

Last year I went with some friends that were jewish and they had a discount for one of the rental companies from their syngouge (spelling??). It was like 50 euros a day and the women at the counter was fighting with us and trying to turn us away. She was finally told she had to do it but she stuck us with a manual and 3 people didnt know how to drive it lol

i think ibiza would be the last place I'd worry about not having hotel , then again I would say car hire is def worth it in that situation for sure
