Tickets for Arcade Fire's gig in Dublin's Phoenix Park later this year have sold in around half an hour.

Eight thousand tickets went on sale at 9am for the marquee performance on October 24.

Tickets were limited to four per person following the controversy that surrounded Arcade Fire's two shows in the Olympia Theatre earlier this year, which sold out in seconds.

The Canadian indie rockers, who also played at Oxegen last month, have built up a worldwide reputation as one of the best live bands on tour at the moment.

I hadnt even heard of them until 3 months ago when I had 8 tickets to sell.....

Imagine my surprise when I have 136 replies from staff saying Me, Me, Me!!!!!

gotta disagree, I think they are really good!

When it comes to guitar stuff not a patch on the Lord Yorke & Sir Greenwood of the majesterial Radiohead or Saint Morrissey & Marr of the good ship Smiths.

But very good non the less!
