Absolutly shocking!!!

The Arc nightclub in NYC, home to Danny Tenaglia's infamous 'Be Yourself' night and Made Events, is to close its doors as the building has been sold to an owner who wants to turn it into luxury condominiums.

The early 20th century building, initially built for American Express, was home to legendary venues prior to Arc including Paradise Garage, The Loft, Sound Factory and Vinyl for over 25 years. Arc was opened at 6 Hubert Street right after Twilo closed its doors and has played an important role in the club scene since.

Obviously DT banned everyone from his club for various reasons so it wouldnt matter too much anyway ;)

I didnt know it was home to the Paradise garage though before :o

According to mr john 00 fleming:

Arc is simply re-locating. They will be moving to another venue. Things will be bigger and better, don't worry, Arc will still live

its the reason of why its been bought that gets me.

It would be pretty cool to say you lived in the ol paradise garage though 8)

you could just casually drop into conversations "oh yeah, and Larry used to play just over there where the jacuzzi is now" :P

Nothing shocks me anymore. After the sudden shutdown of both Twilo in 2001 and Naughtybooth.com just this month, expect the unexpected. Glad to mention though there's a new board that is carrying on all the regulars. Apparently, NB.com was attracting up to 150,000 viewers per week. AFter ceasing their operations, we had nowhere to turn to until rhythmism came along. Awwwwwwwwwwwww, relief.

I know its a shame that the venue is closing its doors but like i said above ARC is relocating so dont fret!
