Anyone ever lost a finger in an accident?

Mate of mine had a finger biten off trying to separate 2 Japanese fighting dogs in Canada!! They put the digit in snow, took it down the hospital, had it sown back on within 4 hours, all for $3k!!

My Mum took the top off her finger with a Coffee Bean Grinder!! Boy that was nasty!!

Ohhhhhhh! They all sound really sore.

Look on the bright side though, you all still have you fingers and toes intact.

You definately have the prize for best stories there Philly. 8O Talking about finger and toe losses definately makes the day go faster I always find.

What about a toe then? Maybe even just really badly bruised?

Broken 8 out of 10 toes and lost the top of my big toe twice whilst playing football as a child - missed the ball and kicked the kerb, second time went to kick a frisbee (barefooted) and stubbed my toe take the top off again...... (a few years apart - I waited for it to heal properly before doing it again..

Hopefully you are a little luckier these days?

Surprising how many people have had finger or toe injurys. Do you think people who holiday in Ibiza have a higher chance of injuring their toes or fingers?

well if its an injury free for all!

Knocked out twice
5 stitches just above eye
half of ear re-sewn on
broken nose twice
torn lip - stiches
lost 1 tooth knocked another into mouth
dislocated a number of fingers and have three still broken
dislocated ankle
SNAKE BITE (beat that) on ankle
4 inch scar on arm

these exclude ligament and muscle injuries, such as the torn ankle lig that resulted in an operation to remove the surroundign bone a couple of months ago.

all apart from last two down to rugby though. whoooo i feel like such a red neck, lets have a scar showing competition!

Your not a boxer or crocodile hunter are you?

This is a true btw:

I was playing squash and the squash court was enclosed with no windows, so we had to use a token for the electricity meter.

When the token ran out the court was pitch black and you are supposed to make your way out.

The dude i was playing with thought it would be funny to quickly run out and jam the door shut from the outside - leaving me in the dark.

The squash court doors were really big and heavy and the only handle on the inside is a small steel ring which you have to "flip" out of the door. This is to stop you falling against it when you are playing squash.

Unfortunately for me the steel ring was brand new and was quite sharp. So as i put my foot against the wall and pulled with all my strength against the jammed door, two off my fingers were severed.

One of which was stitched back on.
