Anyone ever been busted on eBay?

A work colleague of mine got an email yesterday about a promo CD he was selling on eBay. Basically it was from EMI who said they were not very happy he was selling it and he had to immediately send it back to them otherwise they would take action. The best bit is he got a letter this morning sent Special Delivery to his home address with all legal jargon on it!
 
what? shit thats insane....as for the girl who sold her virginity? well, she got £40,000.


(and i dont know that thats the right figure before anyone corrects me for it!)

Was it a Kylie promo out of interest? I hear Parlophone are quite hot on her stuff...
 
my friend got banned for selling fake gucci bags she got from China...she never would tell me if it went any further though, she thought she was being so clever by making loads of money

EMI own Parlophone, and I know EMI have their own guys watching eBay for people selling their stuff before release.

It was a Fischerspooner CD, I have the new album and Stereophonics at the minute but can't sell them unti they come out.
 
My employers have people monitoring Ebay and other sites for counterfit / stolen / unauthorised goods.

It amazes me that people will offer something dodgy for sale on 'The world's biggest marketplace' and then be surprised when it gets spotted....
