I booked the Insotel Fenicia Thallaso Spa for July and was wonderng if anyone else has stayed there or will be staying there and what your experience was. Whats the crowd there like..old/young? How's the food...pool...?Do they have dj's during the day? Hows the staff? Is the hotel party friendly? Thanks!!

It's not a party hotel at all; the only time you'll see a DJ by the pool is if he's sunbathing.

It's a nice place with a very sedate atmosphere and is within a short walk of Santa Eulalia.

The only way it is like a party is that they charge similar prices for drinks at the bar as the nightclubs do.

I have had a wander around this hotel and friends have stayed there.
There are no dj's unless they are staying there, I would guess parties would be frowned upon and the nearest thing to music is the piano in the bar.
This is an upmarket hotel where guests are expecting peace and quiet in a relaxing environment - it has a great pool.

if these points are relevant to you why didn´t you do some research
BEFORE booking ?

I actually did do as much research as possible but I got a FANTASTIC deal from a third party...way to good to pass up so I booked it. And as with anything, especially the seasons changing I figured their clientelle might be different when I was going which was why i was asking.

the fenicia is a very nice (+ brandnew) hotel - but probably not many places at ibiza
are further away from anything related with the word "party" than this hotel.

but if you have a car it´s no problem, maybe 20min to pacha, 30min to space etc
.. and there is - as mentioned above - a small but very good club in st eulalia:
www.guaranaibiza.com
it´s only a 10min walk from the hotel along the beachfront.

Good to know...I guess the reason im asking is this will be my first time in Ibiza and I'm going by myself...I'm totally open to having a place to come back to after clubbing thats relatively quiet, but theres such a thing as too quiet...so it looks like I'm going to have make friends a little closer to Ibiza Town...

Its a lovely town but not a lot going on to be honest - nice for a day's drive and visit for a wander/shop/eat or drink but certainly not party central.

But dont despair, 10 years ago we stayed in Calla Llonga for the main reason that it wasnt party central and it was great fun - we probably spent a lot more than we should have on taxi's compared to if we had stayed elsewhere, but to be honest - having downtime in a quieter resort is not a major downer for your holiday. i also believe that there is a good bus service from st eulalia to different destinations around the Island so its not like you are stuck in the worst place possible with no way to escape.....8)

Also - see Spotlights own guide to St Eulalia - check round this site - its a great source of information for first timers......

Also found this....... looks like you can get the Disco Bus to and from St Eulalia

It can't be that stuffy of a place if all thats going on at the start of the season...

I think the point is that, due to the exclusivity (not to mention location) of the hotel, you won't find a lot of die hard party people there. I would be hesitant to judge how much "party atmosphere" will be at the hotel based on one pool party thrown during the International Music Summit. I don't think that is indicative of the summer as a whole.

That being said, you have to go for one of the jacuzzi suites. They look awesome!

If I'm lucky enough to end up with a Jacuzzi suite, the party will be in my room no matter what the rest of the hotel is doing :o
