ANYBODY LIKE HED KANDI - DEFECTED ?????

Defected - fantastic, great label, great club nights at both El Divino and especially Ministry.
Hed Kandi - some great CDs, but when I went to their night at El Divino in the summer it was poor. Clubs in England have more non-English people and the music was nothing special, one big tune after another and it all sounded the same.

Defected, great events love the ITH series, not too sure about the Most Rated move yet, think it might accelerate its metamorphisis into;

Hed Kandi, which is going seriously downhill.

hed kandi is getting too big for its boots, too much of it about alright for a jig about to a few tunes but its just anthem after anthem which is boring, after my trip to el divinios this year its now been renamed "ned kandi".

never been to a defected night.

been to plenty of HK ones, and depending on where it is, who's playing, ive had different experiences. (worst was being packed in like a sardine at el divino).

very interesting ! i have to agree.. hed kandi where quite good at one point.. now its just gone a little commercial !

i went to hed kandi at el divino last year... good night.. but the room was full of idiots.. spoilt it alot !

defected is great though... like the balearic stuff

Hed Kandi im really unsure about at the moment - SHOCK HORROR!!

I think doing it every month from October last year to October this year has taken its toll.

I get on with John, Mark, Sav etc and would even class them as friends so i dont go just for the whole music thing because i get to meep up with them and have a chat and a laugh and i enjoy my monthly meet ups. HOWEVER . . . .After doing a few non kandi gigs with Stoney ive seen the other side to clubbing that ive not seen for a while and im enjoying it at the moment.

Defected ive never done, i was going to in Ibiza because ive listened to some of the vinyl that thay have produced and ive liked what ive heard. I never did go in the end because of how packed Hed Kandi was at El Divino's and it put me off.

Defected are coming to Birmingham soon so i might go to that.

Its Hed Kandi in B'ham next week and we wasnt going to go but Joey thinks i should celebrate me handing my notice in so were both going to get blindingly drunk and do a few moonwalks

I had the best night (of my life) at Defected in Ibiza this year, I did not stop dancing (cept for when rockin music came on) bit that was it :D

so i dont go just for the whole music thing because i get to meet up with them

I couldn't agree more Mambo...

I've been going for about a year now myself, twice a month to Pacha & PE & in July I even went three times!! At my peak I was in fact a total Kandi addict, looking everywhere for my next Kandi fix...

I went to HK @ El Divino's in July expecting it to be one of the highlights of my holiday & I was terribly disappointed... I mean 18-30's trip to HK in Ibiza, what was that all about?

The last few months has seen a huge change for HK because it has become so mainstream...

One HK's strongest points is the crowd it attracts, one of the friendliest crowds you will find around but there is even rumours that Sat's HK @ Pacha was like "Chav Central"!! 8O Now that I find very worrying!

I'm not slating HK because they have given me soooo many amazing nights out, that will always remain special to me... & I will still continue to go to some of their nights :D I guess I'm just disappointed at the way something I was sooo passionate about has ended up... *this is not to say things will not improve though!*

Defected though... now that still has that underground feel to it & the 6th Nov cannot arrive soon enough.

Anyone who enjoys HK will definitely love Defected, if not more! Great tunes with a wonderful crowd/atmosphere! :D

Went to Defected at El Divino back in September- it was a top night, one of the best all holiday. The music was spot on. Ok the club was packed but I managed to find my spot where I could move 8O

Love the defected CD's 8)

Did not go to HK this year purely because everyone knows that the club is notoriously packed  If their parties had been held at another club like Pacha, Space or even Priviledge ( :? ) then I would have been there without a doubt.

Was at HK at Stereo in Newcastle a few weeks ago and had a blinding time :P

As for the CD's, the compilations are becoming rather repetative, I mean how many times do you need to put 'Put em high' on a CD :?: :? I think I prefer the new Mix CD's aswell as the annual Base and Es Vive compilations

:D

Got the latest mix Kandi cd, the twisted disco mix on the second disc is good, it's what I bought it for, but I'm not keen on the first, and I've got most of the stuff on the third. The first disc reminds me too much of when I was well into acid jazz and Brand New Heavies were everywhere as a sort of 'lite' version, not my cup of tea.

AND there's a murdering of the classic Shirley and Co's Shame Shame Shame.
