Anybody know Es Codolar beach?

I've just been offered a house to rent at Torre de Molino, about 1k from Es Codolar beach. The place looks fab. My concern is that the official name of the airport is also Es Codolar. As I'm going to be on the isalnd for a while I'm not sure that I want to relive the Space plane-spotting experience 24 hours a day. :?

the view from the window of his livingroom:

sorry!!

the rocky beach of es codolar is quite long (from las salinas to sa caleta) so its a bit difficult
to know where exactly is that house if its situated 1 km from the beach. have you seen
pictures of it?

i go there often but keep in mind that some summers (depending on if it rained) there are
lots of mosquitos!!

I've never tried posting a picture to this forum> Hopefully this will work... :?

Anyway, this is the house. The guy says it's 2km from the airport.

And if the last pic worked. This one should too...

It's the view from the house and judging by how green it is, this must be pretty recent.

Anyway I'm trying to find somewhere to rent for a year and I had high hopes about this place. Still that's the great thing about this forum, the way people can really help each other.

Thanks

okay mr. clayton - i know where it is!!

this tower turned-into-a-house is owned by a guy called clapés who owns a well-known
shop in figueretas (he also owns the big villa just next to that house)!!

have you been in sa caleta or cala jondal beaches?

- first roundabout when you leave the airport
- bar la ponderosa
- take the road to sa caleta / cala jondal
- then you will find a curve to the right (dont take the road to the left :spank: )
- and then a crossroad. you have to turn to the left to go to those beaches (if you keep
straight you will find the bar cubanito). once you have turned to the left you find that
house at the right of the road!!

do you know where it is now? :P

Ah McRackin I knew you'd be the man to track the house down. Is there any corner of the island you don't know?

It's just as well because, to be honest, if I've been up that end it's either been to Ses Salinas or the airport. So I can't quite picture where the house is or what that area is like.

I've been talking to two people about the house, Criss and her boyfriend Toni who owns and his lived in the it for nine years. He tells me the aircraft noise is only a real problem when the wind comes from the south, which isn't that often. I know that's not necessarily bollox as I was brought up in West London, not a million miles from Heathrow. It all depended on how close you lived to the flight path (unless it was Concorde which deafened everybody).

Somebody also mentioned mozzies. Not my favourite living things it must be said. Are they a particular problem around the salt pans? Not sure if I really fancy a summer of thinking I hear a tell-tale buzz, but not being sure because the roar of a jet is drowning it out. :?

if you stay in playa d'en bossa you can also hear the airplanes and sometimes you get
some mosquitos!!

Looks like I'll have to check the place out. The house itself looks nice and the rent's not too bad. It's going to be a matter of weighing that up against the aircraft noise and the mozzies. Trying to rent somewhere from a distance is a nightmare.

Still the prices from Air Berlin aren't too bad at the moment so hopefully I can fix something up if I'm on the island for a few days next month. I know I could just turn up and hope to find something but it would be so much easier if I had an address for shipping and forwarding stuff.

But, as problems go, working out where to stay in Ibiza for a year is one of the better ones I've faced :D

Thanks for that Mr McRackin. I owe you a drink. In fact, if you're around next week I'll buy it for you then. I'll be on the island trying to work where I'm going to be living for the next 12 months. 8)
