Any info on the hotel Club Stella Maris?

Hey all, new to the board so let me start off by saying hi to everyone.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has stayed at Club Stella Maris.
My brother and I are travelling from Canada and were wondering if the hotel is more of a family getaway, since it seems sorta removed from San Antonio on the map.

Any other suggestions for places in San Antonio or Ibiza town?

Thanks.

Stella Maris Club

Hi Trance Addict,
This is a very well kept resort situated in beautiful gardens, clientel mainly German, Italian etc. families, couples.
due to it´s location you´d have to take first the bus from the club to San Antonio and then (in case S.A. is not your cup of tea - you have to find out for yourself or read the relevant discussions on this site) you have to take another bus to Ibiza town. Or, of course, rent a car.

I guess you´d be happier in or around Ibiza town, with most of the big clubs in easy reach.

anyway...welcome to la isla bonita ! :D
cheers
Kathy

Stayed there my first year and I found it wikkid. Had a great BIG apartment with AC, had 2 balconies both with awesome views. It is not really far from San An but because of the windy roads, it's not walkable. But there is a bus out front of Stella Maris that takes you into San An, ending at the Bay. Not sure about how to get to Ibiza Town as I took many taxis. Late at night, taxis are the only way to get back too. It is mainly a family resort with 3 pools, but I asked for an apartment far away so it wasn't too noisy in the morning/afternoon when I am just getting back from the clubs. However with that request, it is built on like a side of a mountain so it was a long and VERY STEEP trek up. So either returning from a club or carrying ur bags from the airport, it's a bit of a bitch.

Anymore questions, just ask. Good to see more of the Canadian contingent going to Ibiza.

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks for the replies guys! & great review CanadaKid

Stella Maris sounds cool, but i guess we're looking for something more close to the town. Hopefully the travel agent can find us another option - any suggestions?
We're targeting the last week of August so fingers crossed it'll be booked by the end of the week :D

BTW is 7 days too long/too little time for a first visit? And how much money can we expect to spend with clubbing/food, just a rough estimate?

Thanks

I think at least 2 weeks is needed so you can enjoy each night at least twice. One week is way too fast and in my opinion not worth flying around the world for. With 2 weeks, you can say go to Judgement Sundays one night and the other Sunday do something completely different or go back if you loved it so much. Clubbing is very expensive if you go to the main clubs... 35-55 euros for entrance and the drinks are all suit to that price too. Food is as good as you want it to be. You can eat cheaply at some places for decent food... me, I went for the "this is my bloody holiday" mentality and had like a 35-45 euro dinner pretty much every night. But I know places like Davids Pizzeria does great dinner combos for like 15 euros.

As far as places to stay in San An, can't help you too much because I booked an apartment last time and for next time. This site has great suggestions in the accomodations section.

Cheers,
Terry
