Any advice for a middle aged git returning to the Island?

Hello,

I've not posted on here for a loooooong time.

My wife and I used to go to Ibiza regularly but we're in our mid 40s now and we have not been for six years. Partly because of the music laws for outside music and partly because the VIP culture was getting a bit silly.

We are debating going this year, next week in fact but does the concept of going to a bar playing music in the day time exist anymore? I can see Blue Marlin and Playa Soleil Ibiza exist but is anything else worth a try or is that pretty much as good as it gets for daytime now? What time do things like Rumors get going?

What are the bars like at night these days? Are they all still really quiet since the laws came in years back?

Cheers!

Welcome back!
Mid-40s is the peak mate! 😁

If you're thinking of old Bora Bora vibes I think that's pretty much gone, but most beach bars will have loud music for the people on the sun loungers (saw that at Tanit last year) etc So you can defo have a dance there, just not have a proper big dancefloor like before.. (As far as i know, i may be corrected from the locals in the know).

When I went to Cala Bassa beach Club last year too there were people dancing in an area in front of the DJ and it was great (loud), so that could still happen in other places too I'm sure, might depend on the day and crowd that day.

I think music is generally louder than those years you're talking about when it was a hot topic with outside noise, but probably not as loud as it was in the bora bora days.

I'm yet to try Playa Soleil, will try in a few weeks for Rumors too, will be interested to see what you make of it if you go.

51 checking here so on the way down from peak but we're currently sat in Sa Trinxa and music is 👌 No-one dancing at the moment but you could if you wanted I guess 😃

Prices not too crazy and really enjoying the vibe.

Bussed it to San An last night from Ibiza Town for Aragma food then Pikes. Was really really quiet everywhere in San An. surprised me even though we are in the winding down to Closings.

Missed the Ibiza Town buzz and regretted coming across a bit although the food was nice again in Aragma.

It’ll be good to hear how Sa Trinxa progresses. We are over next weekend and have 1 daytime slot unplanned as of yet.

Popped over there last year for a day and it was a bit quiet.

Cheers for the info, sounds like it may be slightly better than last time I was there. Every bar down the strip at Bossa was so quiet.

We did Glitterbox at Hi and it felt quiet in the bars we had a drink in. The most people we saw was when people were heading home after Ushuaia.
