just sitting in the office and working on a paper spreadsheet and checking some figures, realised there were a couple of errors so I thought bollox - will use tippex and then enter the correct data from the amended paper sheet when I walk back to my laptop.

So I have this tippex and the young girl who works with me said - what's that ? I explained about how you use it to white out mistakes in your work and I swear to dog, I could see the confusion in her face looking at the tippex then looking at the words on her screen, then looking back at the tippex and wondering why you would white out words on your screen....

its actually made me feel old that she has never had to work with tippex in her office career....

Dont even get me started on the tea strainer discussion.....:spank:

On an age related theme, Mr BG is away to the Cotswolds on Sunday for a bike race and asked if I needed the car as he wanted to use it.

My reply: "No it's OK - I've just had a new cook book delivered and I want to read it on Sunday"

There's no hope for me. Cancel Ibiza. Buy me some beige clothes and sit me in the corner in a wipe down chair.

:cry:

I have tippex at home :lol:

Never used a tea strainer though..........

I bought a box of loose tea the other week by mistake so i went off looking to buy a tea strainer - 6 shops later and this woman said - oh try the bargain shop down that street - its sells all manner of random household goods - bet they have one...

So in the shop looking around at all the random household goods which they did indeed stock - rubber door stops, sink plugs, tea towel hooks, was like being in a 70's ironmongers - thought to myself - brilliant this is household heaven... Anyway I cant locate a tea strainer so the lad behind the counter asked if he could help me and it was just the blankest look ever... I spent about 10 mins explaining about loose tea, and straining and still he looked blank and then said - You what? so tea didnt always to come in a little bag ?

:eek::lol::lol:

The microwave at work died and one of the younger members was in the kitchen area looking sad. Asked what's wrong? He said I can't heat my food. I said just use the oven. He asked can you heat food with that? I told him in the old old days right after we learned how to use fire, We next started to use the oven to reheat food. BTW I'm a yank with a tea strainer and loose leaf tea.

WE ARE OLD :lol:

I used White-Out (yank talk for Tippex) last month for the first time in ages. I guess the kids nowadays just print out a new copy or whatever. Treekillers :lol:

Tea strainers are easy to find around here. Can bring you one next time I'm in the UK if you want :lol:

I finally got one - its hanging from my tool rack in the kitchen with all the other random kitchen tools like garlic presses corkscrews, skewers - but thank you for the offer (i heart my tea strainer) - although I am still searching for one of those posh old fashioned tea strainer balls on a chain which you leave hanging in the tea pot - they are brilliant!!

I think we've got one of those. At least, we used to. Haven't dug it out in ages.
Admittedly, nowadays we just use a french press coffee pot thingy.
