Amsterdam Dance Event 2017

For anyone who has been to ADE is there any particular clubs / venues that I should look into going to? I'm not necessarily so hung up on catching specific dj's on this trip as our Ibiza trips tend to revolve around hearing specific dj's, happy to be a bit more 'freestyle' on this jaunt.

Any other recommendations for non club / ADE events welcome, i.e generally tourist stuff, places of interest etc more than welcome. Thanks in advance
 
Gashouder is definitely something to check out. Melkweg too. Few of the ones I've been to have closed. Heard good things about Shelter and De School, checking those out in August when I'm over for Loveland, so can report back.

Good recommendations. I'd add Paradiso to that list too, Derrick May was fantastic there for ADE 2014.
 
Not much trance going on there these days. Loveland festival is on that weekend, has Hernan Cattaneo on. That's probably as close as you'll get.
 
I wouldnt bother with Paradiso (and there lineups tend to not be great during ADE). Gashouder is a must as it is just a spectacle, personally not something I'm dying to go back to but its must see as its literally an arena built for techno. I would also make it a point to get to Mediahaven which is where they have the Afterlife and Diynamic parties. For me at least it was my favorite venue as the Afterlife party last year was probably the highlight of the trip. I'd also go Dockyard on Saturday, although they changed location this year so cant comment on what that is going to be like.

Gashouder is really something special yeah.

I am from Amsterdam. Awakenings is by far the best party, time and time again if you are looking for Techno. Been there so many times. Laser show and sound system is amazing. The location is round. An old gasfactory. Really amazing.

Buy tickets in advance. Every edition for the last 10 years were sold out months before.... Never buy tickets in front of the door from this street idiots and never on this ticketseller sites.

If you missed out buy at www.ticketswap.nl
They change the barcode of every sold ticket and work direct with the organisations of the events.

I'm thinking of going too this year.
I've been to Gashouder once for NYD, and though I enjoyed it, I found that the crowd was a bit too young.
I'm not sure what's it like during ADE, but if I go, It will probably be for the first day.

Only official channel. You buy tickets right from organistation for normal price. Awakenings is mostly around 50/55 euro.

Ade people are a little older. Techno here is overloaded with young students that live here. Last 5 years mainly.

Festivals, parties every weekend on all days here overloaded with students on X ;) :) Awakenings 10 years ago was underground, now its mainstream.....
 
Reckon I'll go to the Awakenings x Klockworks event on the Sunday night at Gashouder, bought tickets today for the DGTL event with Nina Kraviz, Ame, Modeselektor.............nice wee start on our first night.

I think we're going to do Verknipt on the Thursday. Already bought Diynamic tickets for Friday and Dockyard Saturday (possibly HYTE for "afters") and then Klockworks on the Sunday.

I have my coffin ordered for Monday morning :D
 
I'm also in. My first ADE (after several sonars), looking forward.
Already have tickets for Afterlife, Life & Death, Kompakt and Kölsch vs. Joris Voorn.
 
We're Thursday morning to Monday night, Nina Kraviz and co the first night and Klockworks the last night, no doubt something in between too :spank:
 
Ill be there! Just booked tickets for HYTE X Fuse on the Friday, for me personally the line up is near on perfect! Also booked Gashouder on the Saturday for Capriati
