Okay, I'm gonna lay it out. I've never liked house music, techno, trance....whatever you may call it. Not that I've ever had anything against it, but it was never really my thing.

Then again, I don't think I had ever heard any REAL house, techno, trance, etc., until I went to Ibiza. It was very easy to get into the whole "scene". I found myself digging the beats and the whole atmosphere. But even after, I wasn't running out to buy the music.

Anyway, I've been asked, "why do you even go if you're not into that type of music?" I'll tell you. The real reason I fell in Love with Ibiza was because of the people. The whole atmosphere of the place. I could go anywhere and felt completely welcome. I'm not a real trendy guy, never have been. I don't dress up much. I'm normally in jeans and t-shirt. Maybe a ball cap. But it didn't matter. Of course I ran into people who turned up their nose because I had no idea who a certain DJ was, but those folks were few and far between. To put it simply, I felt included.

I'm sure there are exclusive places that I wouldn't be able to get into. But exclusivity isn't something I enjoy anyway. If everyone can't have a good time, then whats the point?

Or maybe I'm just too happy being a regular, average, fun loving guy....:D Not sure of the point of all this, really. Maybe I just felt like writing. LATER!

Ibiza is a vibe like no other. I had friends that only listened to popular music took them to Ibiza and they loved it.

there is def just a chilled out vibe around the whole island.

took my mum and dad last year for our wedding and they totally fell in love with it.

and techno heads they are not! :)

Thank foooook for that, i cannot agree with you more, not agree, but i have the same view....

Its not the sort of music i listen to widely, but if im in a club i am buzzing to that kind of music....:D

Glad to see there are other folks that feel the same way. I swear I thought this one guy was gonna spit on me when I said I didn't like techno....lol!!

ibiza is like a drug and i hope it will never be illegal ;)

In all fairness some of todays techno, in particular some of the minimal, is an acquired taste. I didn't get minimal u til I heard it in a club but now I love it. House is more easy listening and probably appears to a wider audience although some mainstream music that goes under the guise of being house is not. Liking trance on the other hand is something that should only be done as a mistake and should take no more than 2 years to pull yourself out of

I like Techno, House and Trance. Although trance is nothing compared to the 90's. I still prefer it over the boring Minimal though.

A lot more of modern trance is completely disposable. No tracks in the last couple of years have really stood out for me, which is a shame, as it used to be such an amazing genre. Minimal can be a bit dull, but it's not to bad for room two of a club, in my opinion.
