Alcohol on the beach

Can anybody tell me what the official stance is in regards to drinks on the beach please?

Cool as long as you take your rubbish away! Some bars on the sunset strip can get arsey if you sit on the steps and haven't bought from there, apart from that it is fine.
 
Am I right in saying there is a sign on the steps at mambas that reads something along the lines of people consuming alcohol on the beach will be prosecuted , although I maybe wrong
 
At Mambo, yes. More scare tactics than anything else to get you to buy from there. As long as you aren't on the steps they won't say anything.
 
Iirc the sign says can't sit on these steps unless buy a drink from us. Bit pissy imho. There is also a sign saying drinking alcohol will be prosecuted. .. with loads of people drinking by it lol
 
I see a group of guys once get a proper telling off from the Guardia on the beach in front of Es Paradis for drinking on the beach. I think they were saying no glass?
