'Fabric 17’ is a minimal house tour-de-force, bursting with energy, excitement, and invention. The 21 tracks perfectly describe our new 4/4 ethic – keep it clever, catchy, and brilliantly detailed – and are beautifully mixed in an extremely individual style. Akufen’s love of Henri Mancini, and all things quirky, bleeds from the grooves; check The Rip Off Artist’s hymn to poverty meeting Senor Coconut, or the drug-addictive Crackhaus for evidence.

what kind of music is it, i don't recognise any of the tracks on there, is it one of those CD's for the purists, sounds like a bag of spanners being jangled out of a window?

wtf is minimal house? :?: I'm plain old confused now!

simple beats, and melodies?

i dunno, buy it when it comes out. then you would have listened to a new genre.

;)

Think Luomo, Villalobos and Thomas Heckman... more for the head than the feet, I guess. They get my feet twitchin' though!

farking quality cd!

not that "accessible" but great if you have a true love for superb "undergreound" dance music.

Its the sort of stuff that works well when ur all sat around having a smoke and talking crap, not really dancin stuff on the whole. somthing like proggresive house with a lot of the drive and energy taken out of it. Little repetitive melodies that bounce along rarely changing that much but with the odd extra sound chucked in for fun.
You won't dance or sing along to it but maybe just hummm along to it.

Disagree with you there.

I went out to a night on Friday at the Sub Club with Michael Mayer who played pretty similar stuff to Akufen and whilst at the start of the night the music was more akin to sitting about and having a drink, as it progressed, you couldn't help but dance. In fact, I don't think I've danced so much in ages!

Definitely nothing like Progressive House! 8O
