did a search here and found a thread on flights from madrid - ibiza and there's someone who said he manged to get tix @ 30 euros on spanair...

however i did a check on the spanair website and they charged me about 150?? hmmm i was just wondering why there was this discrepency?? btw i'm planning to leave on the 1st of july....

Total fare (service fee charges not included) = 150.28 (copied from the website)

Most of the time the airlines website charge more than by going with an independent company. Yahoo Travel, Expedia, etc...

I guess it is similar to Ryanair, and they sell the first tickets on flights very cheaply, and the rest more expensive...I went to Barcelona for £40 last year, booked it 6 weeks in advance, but closer to the date it was £200 for the exact same flight

To answer your question (and for future reference) each and every flight has various inventories in the economy cabin which is the equivalent to a ladder process in respects to prices; as soon as the lowest rate goes that inventory is full and you progress to the next and so on and so forth....the higher the price, the more flexibility the ticket usually has, where as the low, cheapie fares, tend to be "use it or lose it". The time of year and the routing will greatly determine how long that inventory is available for...usually in peak periods they (the airlines) will only allocate so many seats for a really good price b/c they know people will end up buying the ticket irrespective of the price as they need to be there at that time..... So, in future, if you ever see a price that you think looks good, Buy It!! Chances are that space/price will not be there 20 minutes later!!!
