Aer Lingus 'promoting cruelty to animals'

Aer Lingus has today been accused of encouraging cruelty to animals by promoting the practice of bullfighting in Spain.

According to The Irish Council Against Blood Sports (ICABS), the airline has urged customers to “take in the atmosphere of a traditional bullfight at Plaza de Toros” in a recent promotional email.

“It is utterly appalling in this day and age that Aer Lingus should callously, and without any vestige of compassion, promote the killing of animals for fun and entertainment,” said ICABS spokesperson Aideen Yourell.

“It is this kind of promotion, aimed at visitors to Spain, that keeps the bull torture and killing alive.

“If tourists shunned the bull rings, it would go a long way towards closing down these hellish places.

“Most holiday companies in Ireland have rowed in behind the ICABS anti-bullfighting campaign, and do not promote bullfighting in their Spanish holiday literature.

“It's hard to believe that in 2007, Aer Lingus should choose to promote such utter barbarity.”

I don't care if Bullfighting is a part of Spanish culture i find it utterly repulsive and barbaric, how people can get kicks from watching this animal cruelty is beyond me and shame on Aer Lingus as well im beginning to dislike this airline as much as i do Ryanair over various things.
