Hi, me and 6 mates have just booked to come over 26-28 September and I was just after some info about Paris by night @ Pacha. Everyone in the group wants to do Zoo closing Saturday then most of the group want to go to Pacha after. We are all comfortably in our 30's and most enjoy classic house music. I'm not a big Bob Sinclair fan and also wondered what sort of set Danny Howard plays in Pacha.

I'm basically trying to convince myself it will be fine or build up a case to elsewhere. My preference would be Elrow as I haven't been before.

Any help/info would be much appreciated.

6 mates are hard to please.
I would opt for Elrow tbh, at least one of them wnt like it though. Some good names for the closing.
Saying that, MAW are on at Pacha which will make it a very housey affair maybe?

Pure Pacha is a good party night. It's the night I take un-committed / casual house music fans too - and most love it. The type that come to Ibiza that just want one night out. Just remember it is Saturday in pacha so the crowd will be glam, alcohol based .... Very very different to the Zoo! If "Masters at Work" are there that night..... Then you'll get a good House solid set..... Though guessing will probably be early set that night.

I'm not a big fan of Bob Sinclair myself but I do love Pacha on Saturdays which is why I ended up three times at Paris by Night this year. Masters At Work were good yesterday but I thought Bob Sinclair's set was quite avearage and that annoying sampling of Bob Sinclair is in the house does my head in. However most of the people seemed to enjoy it so I accept it may have been the case of me being miserable:).

If it wasn't for MAW then I wouldn't even consider going. When you say more glam crowd Obviously we'll be getting changed before going but do you recommend shirts etc then? The alcohol based crowd isn't necessarily an issue but I'll guess we'll have to wait and see how much we enjoy Zoo .

We are there for such a short period id feel bad dragging people to night they wouldn't enjoy.

I'll be back at Pacha for Solomun on Sunday as well though.

I went to Paris by night at the start of August....never again! The music was ok, apart from when Bob Sinclar turned down the track to hear the crowd singing wtf:mad: I also found it to be too busy for my liking, couldn't get moved on the dancefloor or surrounding so opted to stand way back beside the bar! If you're intending to go to pacha for solomun then I'd suggest giving elrow@space a try for the Saturday instead of pacha

I hate Bob Sinclar except for free at mambo's preparty :D & made a promise not to see him again at Pacha after Defected closin 12 with junior jack Kid creme & all these djs i used to like early 2000 played crap commercial music
Yesterday, it worth just for Masters at work.
For solomun,I get bored at Pacha made a promise not to see Somomun agian except maybe in Destino....
Today a french girl Dj living in Ibiza, in my contact( i rent my location at her home, opening 14) post on FB this morning that Bob is takin the piss such as Guetta Aoki & so on
ps: a french parisian friend went to Paris by night for the opening & enjoy it (with MAW too) but cant rely on her thoughts as keen on EDM/commercial music

What happened to Bob Sinclar? Paradise is one of my favourite albums but he has sold out for the dollars it appears.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like we should give this night a miss then. We are only there two nights so doesn't seem like it's worth the risk.

I will try and do a review so you can see if I managed to talk them out of it.

What happen? as u said.
Money RulZ that's all...& we can understand it ...as No one wont say NO to Fame Glory Money (except true authentic artist & not business people))....but only people with a little culture on music know it's crap for more than a decade :D
i ll go sure to this party only if there is Masters as Work like last saturday....

Did Paris by Night at Pacha on Saturday last year, and Danny Howard's set was very very good, nice house vibe, much more similiar to the sort of stuff he plays on his "Nothing Else Matters.. But the Music" tour and podcast, rather than the stuff he plays on R1 (which he himself even admited was because R1 bosses give him an A List and B List of stuff he has to include the dance anthems show) - We left when Bob Sinclar came on though, was waaaay too "Guetta" to be enjoyable, turning music down before drops to hear crowd sing, and way too many "Ibiza make some noise" and "My name is Bob Sinclar!"'s on the microphone.

I was starting to wonder if he was an MC these days as he seemed to do more of that than DJ'ing
