Has anyone off here stayed in the Abrat Hotel before? Just booked for the end of Aug, found good reviews on it but was wondering if anyone from here has stayed there before?
We almost always stay at the Abrat, as it's inexpensive, very clean and the staff are very nice. As we go regularly, booking independently, we always get a room on the 5th floor overlooking the sunset and Calo Des Moro which is worth every penny. The food could be better though - we always book B&B not half board, and the brekkie is just about adequate - though in truth it's rare we get up in time for it.
The Calo Des Moro area of San Antonio is highly recommended, and now there's a lovely new coastline walkway right from the bottom of the Hotel Abrat garden right round to the 'sunset' bars of Cafe Del Mar and Savannah, etc. (about 10 mins walk). I've been to San Antonio 28 times now, so have stayed in lots of different hotels and apartments, but despite the Abrat's 1970s 'retro-chic' look (lol), it has a lot to offer on a budget. Your bed made every day, spotless rooms, nice pool, amazing views and - now I'm a bit lazy - a bus stops right outside the hotel gate that drops you off outside the Indian restaurant!! Two mins walk from there to the bars and sea front - What else do you need? Abrat? Good choice in my opinion, Pete - we'll be there at the end of Aug too!
